Revolut is launching payroll portability in Mexico. The service will let users receive their salary directly in a Revolut account. The digital bank reports more than 1 million customers in the country.
How the process works
The process is fully digital. It takes between 2 and 10 business days. Users do not need to visit a branch or submit physical documents.
Banking integration
Revolut operates as a licensed bank in Mexico. The payroll product uses direct integration with the SPEI payment system. That connection lets workers request the account change from the app.
Portability rules
Under Mexican rules, workers can choose which bank receives their salary. The bank that first receives the funds must transfer them without cost. The change must take effect by the tenth business day after the request.
Users can request the change in the account detail section of the app. They can provide an 18-digit CLABE or debit card information. Workers can also ask employers to deposit salary directly into a Revolut account.
