Practo has announced a significant leadership transition as the healthcare platform prepares for its next phase of growth across domestic and international markets. Founder and Chief Executive Officer Shashank ND Singh has been elevated to the expanded position of Managing Director and Executive Chairman. Jagnoor Singh, who joined the company as Chief Operating Officer in January 2025, will take over as Chief Executive Officer effective September 1, 2026.
Leadership Transition at the Helm
This evolution comes at a time of strong commercial momentum for Practo, with the company growing at forty percent year on year and remaining profitable for the past two and a half years. In his new capacity, Shashank will continue to shape the company's overall vision, product direction, and strategy while leading its long-term innovation agenda. He will also oversee capital strategy, inorganic growth, and corporate development initiatives as Practo enters a more execution-focused phase.
New Chief Executive Officer Mandate
Jagnoor Singh will lead Practo's overall strategy, growth, and operations across global markets while working closely with Shashank to advance the company's long-term vision. Since joining as Chief Operating Officer in January 2025, he has played an important role in strengthening execution and expanding the company's presence in new markets. His previous senior operating roles at Bharti Airtel, Unacademy, and OYO span telecom and consumer internet businesses.
Strengthening Leadership from Within
Practo has also elevated two long-standing leaders into expanded roles, reflecting the depth of talent developed over the company's eighteen-year journey. Co-founder Siddhartha Nihalani has taken on the additional responsibility of Chief Operating Officer for B2C, overseeing the company's consumer businesses. Rowel Coelho, previously Head of Monetization, has been appointed Chief Operating Officer for B2B with responsibility for enterprise and corporate operations.
A Strong Internal Bench
Together, Siddhartha and Rowel bring nearly three decades of experience at Practo and have contributed to the company's evolution across multiple stages of its journey. Their expanded roles are intended to deepen leadership capabilities and prepare the organisation for an ambitious next chapter. The company described these appointments as a natural reflection of the strength built within its leadership ranks over many years.
Focus on Frontier AI Research
Co-founder Abhinav Lal has been named Chief Scientist and will lead Practo's exploration of frontier applications of artificial intelligence in healthcare. His research-focused mandate includes forging partnerships and building an innovation hub dedicated to future-ready technologies. This move highlights the company's commitment to advancing foundational research and pursuing ideas that could shape the future of healthcare delivery.
Global Expansion and Strategic Priorities
The new structure follows Practo's recent expansion of its consumer platform into the United Arab Emirates and the United States. A network of more than 700,000 doctors and healthcare providers now serves millions of patients around the world. The expanded leadership team will focus on scaling internationally, deepening the company's role across the healthcare ecosystem, and embedding artificial intelligence across existing products and new solutions.
Practo's leadership realignment signals a deliberate effort to align executive oversight with its next stage of growth. By combining experienced internal leaders with a new chief executive, the company aims to balance continuity with fresh operational momentum. These changes position Practo to pursue global scale, deeper healthcare integration, and advanced artificial intelligence capabilities in the years ahead.
