Portuguese digital health company Hope Care has secured €6 million in Series A financing to accelerate the expansion of its remote patient monitoring technology across Europe. The round was led by Iberis Capital, with participation from Vieira de Matos, VDM Capital, and existing shareholder Buenavista Equity Partners. The investment will support the company's commercial and operational growth while helping it deploy additional digital care programs in several European healthcare markets.

Scaling Remote Healthcare Across Europe

Founded in 2012, Hope Care develops OpMA, a regulated platform designed to support centralized remote patient monitoring and telehealth services. The technology combines information from connected medical devices, patient-reported data, and clinical workflows within a single environment used by healthcare organizations. Through the platform, providers can create and manage digital care programs for patients with chronic conditions while supporting earlier clinical intervention and more efficient use of healthcare resources.

Hope Care already operates remote monitoring programs in Portugal and France, including deployments within the GHT Saône-et-Loire Bresse Morvan healthcare network. The company is also developing a project in Switzerland as part of its broader European expansion strategy. Its latest financing is expected to help increase the pace at which the company enters new markets and strengthens relationships with healthcare institutions.

Expansion in Germany and Romania

Germany represents one of Hope Care's next major areas of growth, with the company establishing Hope Care GmbH at Medical Valley in Erlangen. Its first deployment in the German market is scheduled to begin in October 2026, marking another step in the company's internationalization. Hope Care is also building a local presence in Romania, where setup activities for a new project are expected to begin by the end of September.

The company has already developed a significant position in its domestic Portuguese market through partnerships with public and private healthcare providers. Hope Care says its technology is currently used by 15 Local Health Units representing approximately 45% of people registered with Portugal's National Health Service, alongside regional health services in Madeira and the Azores. Its platform is also deployed by private healthcare organizations, municipalities, and social care providers.

Focus on Clinical and Economic Outcomes

Hope Care positions remote monitoring as a way for healthcare systems to identify deterioration earlier and reduce reliance on emergency and hospital-based care. In one 12-month analysis involving 43 people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, the company reported a 76% reduction in hospital days and a 74% decline in emergency department visits. The program was also associated with estimated annual savings of €4,811 per patient, according to figures released by the company.

Iberis Capital Partner João Henriques said growing pressure from chronic disease is increasing the need for healthcare systems to move toward more preventive models of care. He highlighted Hope Care's combination of clinical evidence, technological capabilities, and regulatory readiness as important factors supporting the investment. Iberis Capital expects the company to use those capabilities to expand within public healthcare systems and other healthcare organizations across Europe.

New Growth Phase

Hope Care founder and CEO José Paulo Carvalho described the Series A as the beginning of a new stage for the company after more than a decade of working with healthcare institutions. He said the business has focused on building a regulated platform capable of delivering measurable outcomes for patients, clinicians, and healthcare systems. The new capital is intended to strengthen Hope Care's ability to commercialize its technology and broaden access to its remote care model.

The company has also reported accelerating commercial momentum during 2026 as demand for remote monitoring solutions continues to develop. Sales during the first half of the year reached approximately 2.5 times the level recorded during the same period in 2025. That growth, combined with the Series A financing, gives Hope Care additional resources to scale deployments while establishing operational teams in new European markets.

Hope Care's €6 million Series A provides the Portuguese digital health company with fresh capital to deepen its presence across Europe's evolving remote healthcare market. With existing operations in Portugal and France and expansion underway in Switzerland, Germany, and Romania, the company is increasingly positioning OpMA as infrastructure for managing chronic disease outside traditional hospital settings. The next stage of growth will focus on broader commercial adoption, new healthcare partnerships, and the continued rollout of regulated remote patient monitoring programs across the region.
