Palo Alto Networks is in talks to acquire Beacon Security, an Israeli cybersecurity startup. Beacon raised $13 million in a Seed round in July led by Notable Capital. The company builds a platform that lets security teams deploy AI agents to detect, investigate, and respond to threats.
Deal context
No purchase price has been confirmed, and no deal has been announced. The Beacon discussions are separate from reported talks to buy Clutch Security for about $500 million. Palo Alto Networks has acquired 12 Israeli startups since 2014.
Founding team
Beacon was founded in 2024 by Gal Tal-Hochberg, Or Mattatia, and Ido Israeli. All three are veterans of IDF intelligence units 8200 and 81. Tal-Hochberg previously co-founded HiredScore, which Workday acquired for $520 million.
How the platform works
Beacon's platform aggregates data from hundreds of security sources and systems. It normalizes and enriches the data to give AI agents a unified view of the security environment. Teams can use ready-made security agents or build their own autonomous workflows.
Beacon says it serves dozens of organizations across financial services, insurance, healthcare, hospitality, and technology. Its customers include Fortune 500 companies. The company reported that annual recurring revenue grew by more than 300% in the first half of 2026.
