Numeracle, a McLean, Virginia identity verification company, has raised US$28 million in growth funding. Edison Partners led the round. The company helps businesses ensure their calls are not blocked or mislabeled as spam.

Funding plans

The company will use the capital to expand into new industries and regions. It plans to grow its go-to-market, sales, product, and R&D teams. It will also build its international presence.

Company growth

Numeracle reports a 70% increase in annualized revenue run rate over the past 16 months. It verifies the business identities of more than 4,000 enterprise brands. Its customers range from independent businesses to Fortune 500 companies.

Identity services

Numeracle verifies that a business is a real, legitimate, and operating entity. That verified status helps prevent carrier mislabeling and supports branded calling. Its newer KYCaaS service gives platforms managed identity checks before onboarding.

With Edison's backing, the company will extend verification from voice to messaging and rich communications. It also plans to support emerging digital channels. The funding arrives as the FCC pursues tighter identity and vetting rules for carriers.
