Now Seguros, a Brazilian digital insurance company, has received definitive authorization from the Superintendence of Private Insurance (Susep) to operate as an S3 insurer. This approval ends its participation in the Regulatory Sandbox and allows the company to expand its operations nationwide. With this milestone, Now Seguros can fully develop its property, casualty, and personal insurance offerings across Brazil.
Digital-First Approach to Insurance
The company has built its business around a completely digital model, focused on simplifying the insurance process and distributing products through non-traditional channels. Its initial offerings included flexible monthly-term products with no long-term commitment, reducing bureaucracy for customers. This approach aims to make insurance more accessible while maintaining transparency and efficiency in coverage management.
Expanding Rural and Specialized Products
Now Seguros has introduced Rural Insurance, covering seasonal crops with production periods of up to six months. It has extended services to small and medium-sized rural producers and is the only insurtech approved for federal and state rural subsidy programs in São Paulo and Paraná. These initiatives highlight the company’s commitment to providing coverage for historically underserved segments through innovative digital solutions.
Comprehensive Portfolio and B2B Integration
The insurer offers products in Residential, Business, Life, and Personal Accident sectors, along with hybrid solutions that combine home and business coverage. It also operates under a B2B model, allowing companies to integrate insurance as a complementary service to strengthen customer relationships and generate revenue. Technologically, Now Seguros operates on a cloud-native platform with various integration options, including APIs, webhooks, and file sharing, facilitating partner onboarding and new product launches.
Strategic Partnerships and Market Solutions
Partnerships, particularly with insurance brokers, play a critical role in Now Seguros’ growth strategy. One example is EasyCover, developed to serve the short-term rental market, providing coverage for damages, theft, and guest-related risks. Looking ahead, the company plans to expand its portfolio to include Surety Bonds, Property, Credit Life, and Directors & Officers insurance, aligning with a structured expansion strategy.
Scaling Technology and Broker Services
The company aims to scale digital solutions that simplify broker offerings and enable online policy issuance through defined underwriting models. CEO Marco Aurélio Queiroz highlighted the launch of Hybrid Home and Business Property Insurance for entrepreneurs with limited coverage, alongside the expansion of Rural Insurance. The final license allows Now Seguros to operate without regulatory constraints, expanding its reach and developing new product lines with technological support.
Regulatory Sandbox and Industry Impact
The Regulatory Sandbox allowed Now Seguros to test its model at real scale, validating its ability to increase access to insurance. It joins other Sandbox alumni such as Pier, Darwin, IZA, Simple2U, Justos, Split Risk, and 88i in demonstrating how insurtechs can reach underserved markets. According to Insurtech Brasil, 68 percent of policyholders served by Sandbox-born insurers had never previously purchased insurance, showcasing the program’s impact on inclusion and digital market expansion.
With the definitive Susep license, Now Seguros is poised to expand its portfolio, increase policy issuance, and strengthen partnerships with brokers and other market players. The company’s digital-first model and collaborative approach allow it to provide simpler, more accessible, and technology-driven insurance solutions. As it scales nationwide, Now Seguros establishes itself as a leading force in Brazil’s growing insurtech ecosystem.
