Northwood Space Corp. has closed a US$375 million Series C equity round. Andreessen Horowitz and DFJ Growth led the financing. The company builds ground network infrastructure that connects satellites to Earth.

Investor backing

The round also drew Alpine Space Ventures, Washington Harbour Partners, Stepstone Activate, and In-Q-Tel. A separate multi-year credit facility from HSBC Innovation Banking will support working capital and network expansion. The funding will help Northwood deliver on existing contracts and build out its global ground network.

Company momentum

Since its Series B less than nine months ago, Northwood has deployed six multi-orbit-capable sites on two continents. It also demonstrated geosynchronous command capacity from a commercial phased array in live tests. The company opened a 185,000-square-foot headquarters and factory in Torrance, expanding manufacturing footprint more than fivefold.

How the network works

Northwood manufactures Portal phased arrays for command and control and Prism dishes for payload data. Its software combines multiple antennas into larger apertures. Satellite operators use an API to search, reserve, update, and cancel passes on the shared network.

The company has more than 140 employees and plans to add 400 jobs in Torrance and Washington, DC over three years. Northwood plans to open new sites in high-demand regions with capacity of 100+ Gbps by the end of 2027. It also said several network expansions will be announced in the first half of 2027.
