French startup Gallium Defense has raised €7.1 million in Seed funding. The round was led by Keen Venture Partners and 360 Capital, with participation from Omnes Capital and Polytechnique Ventures. The company builds a lower-cost radar that detects small drones.
Use of funding
The new funding supports development and industrialization of the GDS-10 radar. Gallium Defense aims to sell each unit for around €500,000. Final pricing is planned for April 2027.
Company origins
Gallium Defense was formally established in April 2026. Founders Eric Fournier, Florian Lemoine, and Robin Mandel began development work in 2024. The startup now has two operational prototypes and holds monthly outdoor trials.
What the radar does
The GDS-10 uses AI and X-band AESA radar technology. It detects small drones, including first-person-view models, up to 10 kilometers away. The system offers 360-degree coverage and can track multiple targets at once.
Orders are expected to open in the first quarter of 2027. First deliveries could begin in June 2027. The company also plans to use the funding for recruitment and further demonstrations.
