Navan, the global AI-powered business travel and expense platform, announced on September 9, 2026, that it has acquired BoomPop, an AI-powered platform for meetings and events. The acquisition is designed to expand Navan's presence in the meetings and events category, where a large portion of corporate spend still takes place outside managed channels. BoomPop has been recognized by Inc. as one of the fastest-growing private companies in America.

Strategic Rationale and Market Context

The acquisition builds on a successful partnership announced earlier this year and is intended to broaden Navan's meetings and events offering. Navan said the move supports its strategy to power in-person connections and provide customers a single destination for travel, expense, payments, meetings, and events. The company is responding to growing demand for more connected experiences across these categories.

A Closer Look at BoomPop

Founded in 2023, BoomPop uses artificial intelligence to help companies plan and manage events end-to-end, from venue and vendor sourcing to room blocks, contracts, and payments. The platform has supported events for approximately 250,000 people at organizations including Accenture, Amazon, Google, Salesforce, and Shopify. BoomPop estimates that it has helped customers reduce costs by approximately 30 percent on average across events ranging from 15-person gatherings to conferences with thousands of attendees.

Leadership Views the Deal as a Natural Next Step

Michael Sindicich, President of Navan, said that in-person connections drive business forward, yet bringing teams together often involves juggling emails, spreadsheets, vendors, and disconnected tools. He explained that customers want the same transparency and value in meetings and events that Navan brings to the rest of their travel programs. Fully integrating BoomPop's team and technology will help Navan scale its existing meetings and events business, accelerate its roadmap, and meet growing customer demand.

Healey Cypher, BoomPop Co-Founder and CEO, said the company was built to make work functions less work and that its partnership with Navan showed how much bigger the idea becomes when travel and events live together. He added that customers saw the value of the combined offering immediately. Joining forces means every company gets one partner for the whole experience, from a ten-person offsite to a 500-person global sales kickoff.

Financial Impact and Integration Plans

The transaction is expected to have no material impact on Navan's previously issued financial guidance. Navan will draw on its experience integrating other companies, including Reed and Mackay, Comtravo, Tripeur, and most recently Smartrips, to help ensure a seamless experience for customers. The company stated that this acquisition advances its broader effort to unify corporate travel and event management under one platform.

Company Profiles

Navan is a global AI-powered business travel and expense platform that helps travelers find flights and hotels while automating expense reconciliation with 24/7 support. BoomPop is a venture-backed, people-first event planning platform designed to support thoughtful workplace gatherings. The company's technology gives event professionals and corporate teams time to focus on more human aspects of event planning.

The acquisition highlights a continuing shift toward AI-powered platforms that connect travel, expense management, and event planning in a single experience. By bringing BoomPop's event technology into its portfolio, Navan is positioning itself to serve more of the corporate meetings and events market, where transparency and control have historically been limited. Customers are expected to benefit from a unified partner for business travel and in-person gatherings as the integration moves forward.
