Hangzhou-based AI chip developer Nano-core Chip has raised over CN¥1 billion in a Series C2 funding round. The financing was led by JianTou Investment. The company develops AI inference chips that combine several computing technologies.
Funding details
The latest financing follows a CN¥1 billion Series C1 round announced in September. This brings its total funding over the past two months to more than CN¥2 billion. Participants in the C2 round included Hangzhou Capital, Kaitai Capital, and Xiaochi Capital.
Company origins
Nano-core Chip was founded in 2021 and is based in Hangzhou. It was incubated at a Peking University research institute in Zhejiang province. The company's architecture is designed to improve performance and power efficiency.
Product development
Its product lineup targets both edge devices and cloud infrastructure. The company said its first three chips have already completed tape-out. These chips use its proprietary 3D-CIM™ architecture.
Nano-core Chip will use the proceeds for product development and to prepare for volume production. Customer sampling is planned for early 2027. Initial volume shipments are also scheduled to begin at that time.
