Lexroom, an AI operating system for legal work, has acquired 100 percent of Praven Intelekt, an AI assistant for Bulgarian law. The deal, announced from Sofia on 8 September 2026, establishes Bulgaria as Lexroom's first market in Central and Eastern Europe. It follows the company's recent entries into Germany and Spain and combines local legal expertise with a rapidly scaling European platform.
Strategic Expansion into Central and Eastern Europe
The acquisition positions Bulgaria as a gateway for Lexroom's broader ambitions across Central and Eastern Europe. Praven Intelekt brings a platform serving more than 20,000 registered users and over 900 clients, including law firms, municipalities, corporate legal departments, and compliance teams. Lexroom views the move as a necessary step because legal AI cannot scale through simple translation across jurisdictions.
This move makes Bulgaria Lexroom's first market in Central and Eastern Europe after the company entered Germany and Spain. The founders of Praven Intelekt will remain closely involved in operations and regional development. The integration is expected to preserve local legal expertise while bringing broader functionality to Bulgarian legal professionals over time.
Founded in Sofia in 2025, Praven Intelekt built one of Bulgaria's first dedicated AI platforms for legal professionals. The product supports legal research, document analysis, and legal drafting for around 1,500 professionals every week. A core team of just five people achieved this reach in a little over one year.
Local Expertise Meets European Scale
Praven Intelekt's technology and legal databases will gradually become part of the Lexroom platform, while existing clients continue using current capabilities. Access to nearly 1.2 million legal documents from 18 official Bulgarian and European sources grounds all answers in official material. Users can verify responses through direct links to legislation, case law, EU law, and regulatory decisions.
Praven Intelekt's founders and team are joining Lexroom to continue developing the Bulgarian market. Siyanna Lilova, co-founder and CEO of Praven Intelekt, becomes Head of Central and Eastern Europe at Lexroom and will lead regional growth. Lexroom says the quality of the team and the depth of its local product were decisive factors in the acquisition.

Lexroom was founded in 2023 and is among Europe's fastest growing legal technology companies. It now serves over 20,000 clients, employs more than 200 people, and generated more than 20 million euros in annual recurring revenue in the summer of 2026. Its platform is built around more than 13 million legal sources.
In May 2026, Lexroom raised 50 million dollars in a Series B round led by Left Lane, with participation from Base10 Partners, Eurazeo, Acurio Ventures, Entourage, and View Different. The Series B closed eight months after a 19 million dollar Series A, bringing total funding to over 73 million dollars. This financial foundation supports continued expansion into civil law markets across Europe.
