Riyadh-based edtech company iSchool has announced its acquisition of SEEDS, the educational division of Egyptian-Saudi software firm Algoriza. The move marks a major milestone in iSchool’s expansion strategy, giving it direct access to Saudi Arabia’s growing education market. With this acquisition, iSchool aims to broaden its influence across the Kingdom’s academic and corporate sectors.
A New Chapter in Workforce-Focused Learning
One of the most transformative aspects of the deal is the launch of a new educational category: AI and coding classes offered as HR benefits to employees’ children. Piloted successfully with banks, telecoms, and energy companies, the model positions digital upskilling as both a family benefit and a long-term talent strategy. This innovative approach has received positive feedback from both employees and HR leaders.
Leveraging SEEDS’ Local Strength
SEEDS, established in 2022 by Algoriza, has built a strong local reputation with its AI-first learning content and support for local teachers. By bringing SEEDS under its wing, iSchool acquires not just curriculum but an active student base and a network of regional partnerships. This integration sets the stage for national-scale educational programs in both public and private Saudi schools.
Shared Vision for Early AI Education
The merger reflects a shared vision between the two companies about the importance of starting AI education early. “Joining iSchool is a natural evolution of our vision,” said Mohamed El Domahy, Co-founder and CEO of Algoriza. He emphasized that this partnership will enable broader reach and impact while adding value to employers and schools alike.
Building on an Established Foundation
Founded in Egypt, iSchool is already a recognized leader in K-12 AI and coding education across the MENA region. The platform currently operates in over 20 countries, with more than 131,000 students aged 6 to 18 enrolled in courses covering artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data science, game development, and UI/UX design. Students benefit from interactive project-based learning, gaining both technical skills and entrepreneurial exposure.
Unlocking Bilingual and Inclusive Education
One of the immediate goals following the acquisition is to develop a bilingual curriculum tailored to Saudi Arabia’s diverse educational landscape. This will allow both Arabic and English-speaking students to access high-quality STEM education. The joint team also plans to extend existing partnerships with national schools to create more inclusive and far-reaching programs.
Aligning with Saudi Arabia’s Youthful Demographics
Saudi Arabia, with one of the youngest populations globally, represents fertile ground for edtech innovations focused on future skills. iSchool’s enhanced presence through SEEDS gives it a strategic advantage in catering to this demographic. The move aligns with the Kingdom’s broader goals of building a knowledge-based economy powered by digital fluency and innovation.
iSchool’s acquisition of SEEDS underscores its ambition to become the go-to platform for AI and coding education in the region. With expanded infrastructure, a shared educational philosophy, and access to new markets, the company is well-positioned to influence the future of learning in Saudi Arabia. By bridging academic, corporate, and social spheres, iSchool is redefining how the next generation engages with technology.
