Latin America’s private fintech landscape remains heavily concentrated in its two largest ecosystems. Of the region’s 24 most valuable privately held fintech startups and scaleups valued at US$1 billion or more, 21 come from Brazil or Mexico. The ranking spans five Latin American ecosystems and uses the latest credible publicly reported valuations available through October 29, 2026.

Methodology
The ranking covers independently founded, privately held fintech startups and scaleups valued at US$1 billion or more whose primary ecosystem is Latin America. Eligibility is assessed through each company’s founding and operating history, business model, and recognition by credible startup and fintech-industry sources. Companies may qualify where their activities span adjacent areas such as identity, insurance, real estate, or digital assets if they are credibly recognized as part of the fintech ecosystem. Traditional service firms, publicly traded companies, and acquired subsidiaries are excluded.
Valuations reflect the latest credible publicly reported figures available through November 2, 2026. The latest reported valuation is retained unless credible subsequent evidence establishes a newer valuation at a specific figure. Figures are presented in US dollars. Reported estimates, approximate valuations, and disclosed valuation ranges or minimums are included where supported by credible sources. Company and investor disclosures, regulatory filings, and established financial and business publications are prioritized; private-market platform estimates are not used as valuation benchmarks.
