AI-powered healthtech startup Carpl.ai has successfully secured $10 million in a Series A funding round. The investment was led by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector arm of the World Bank Group, with participation from existing investor Stellaris Venture Partners. This new capital is earmarked for accelerating product development and expanding the company's global footprint.


Addressing Fragmentation in Medical AI Adoption

The healthcare industry faces a significant challenge integrating artificial intelligence, particularly in medical imaging. While numerous FDA-cleared radiology AI applications exist, their adoption remains piecemeal and complex for healthcare organizations. Each AI vendor typically requires separate software and integrations, creating substantial operational and IT hurdles.

Medical imaging constitutes over 80% of all healthcare data, and demand for these services continues to outpace radiologist capacity. This gap highlights the urgent need for efficient solutions that can streamline the use of AI tools. Without a unified system, the potential benefits of AI in diagnostics are hindered by logistical and financial burdens.

A Centralized Marketplace for AI Solutions

Carpl.ai addresses these issues by providing a unified platform that acts as the world's largest radiology AI marketplace. Through a single integration, healthcare providers gain access to over 300 AI applications from more than 100 different partners. This model simplifies the process of browsing, testing, and deploying various commercial radiology AI models.

The platform is designed to be vendor-neutral and infrastructure-agnostic, offering a seamless experience for hospitals and medical centers. It enables customers to build, test, and monitor AI applications within their existing clinical workflows. The newly acquired $10 million will be instrumental in fueling Carpl.ai's next phase of growth. The company plans to allocate the funds toward continued product innovation and the expansion of its global partner ecosystem. A significant portion will also bolster its sales and delivery teams to support commercial growth across key markets.

Carpl.ai already serves an impressive roster of 30 hospitals and medical centers across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. Its clients include prestigious organizations such as RadNet in the US, Medica in the UK, and the Singapore government. The company maintains offices in San Francisco and Singapore to support its international operations.

Investor Confidence and Future Ambitions

The investment from IFC underscores a shared commitment to advancing digital health innovation, particularly in emerging markets. IFC highlighted that Carpl.ai is building critical digital infrastructure to help providers adopt AI at scale, thereby improving diagnostic quality. This partnership aims to leverage India's technology talent to address a global healthcare need.

Stellaris Venture Partners reiterated its confidence in the company's vision and execution since its initial investment. CEO Dr. Vidur Mahajan stated the company's mission is to ensure clinicians can use the best AI technology for patients. He also shared a vision to expand beyond radiology into pathology, genomics, and general medicine.
