FIZE Medical, a company specializing in smart fluid management for critically ill patients, has announced the first close of its Series B financing round. The round is co-led by Asahi Kasei Medical and Rapha Capital Management, moving the company toward its broader $20 million funding target. The announcement highlights an expanded strategic partnership that will extend distribution of FIZE kUO into Europe.

A Broader Strategic Partnership

The financing significantly deepens FIZE Medical's relationship with Asahi Kasei Medical, which already acts as FIZE's exclusive distribution partner in Japan. FIZE kUO has already been launched in that market with Asahi Kasei Medical's support. Under the new agreement, Asahi Kasei Medical will also distribute the device in Europe, giving FIZE Medical access to a major new market in critical care.

Funding Details and Growth Trajectory

The first close of the Series B round represents meaningful progress toward FIZE Medical's $20 million target. The company had previously raised $30 million, and reaching the full target would bring its total funding to $50 million. The new investment follows an earlier $14 million round closed two years ago and arrives as the company accelerates both product development and commercial expansion.

Technology and Clinical Importance

FIZE Medical has developed a system that monitors kidney function and manages fluid balance in intensive care settings. Its FIZE kUO platform provides real-time digital monitoring of urine output to support precision fluid management and early intervention. Nearly half of intensive care patients develop acute kidney injury, a condition associated with a mortality rate above 20 percent, underscoring the need for timely detection.

Leadership Perspectives

Dror Zerem, Chief Executive Officer of FIZE Medical, said the investment is a meaningful next step in the relationship with Asahi Kasei Medical and a validation of the company's technology and vision. Shuichiro Inadome, Chief Executive Officer of Asahi Kasei Medical, noted that fluid management is a natural extension of the company's presence in critical care. Kevin Slawin, Founder and Managing Partner of Rapha Capital Management, described the investment as a vote of confidence in FIZE Medical's trajectory.

Clinical Adoption and Global Reach

Several hospitals in Israel, including Soroka and Beilinson, already use FIZE Medical's system, with Sheba expected to implement it soon. A total of 60 intensive care beds in Israel are currently equipped with the solution. FIZE kUO is also commercially available in Japan, Europe, and the United States, reflecting the company's expanding global presence.

Use of Proceeds and Future Development

The newly raised capital will be used to accelerate development of the FIZE Optima platform for AI-driven prediction and treatment guidance. FIZE Medical also plans to strengthen commercial activities in its leading markets. The FIZE Optima platform is designed to use continuous physiological data to predict fluid-related risk and guide clinical decision support, moving the company beyond monitoring.

FIZE Medical's Series B first close signals growing momentum and confidence in its shift from precision monitoring to predictive, AI-guided fluid management. The expanded collaboration with Asahi Kasei Medical strengthens the company's commercial foundation in Japan and opens the door to broader adoption in Europe. With additional funding still being sought toward the $20 million target, FIZE Medical is well positioned to address a critical need in intensive care and improve outcomes for patients at risk of acute kidney injury.
