Finvolve, a multi-stage venture capital platform focused on Indian startups, has announced the first close of its latest fund at INR 90 crore. The fund forms part of a target corpus of INR 250 crore and will focus on growth and late-stage Indian startups across several strategic sectors. The firm expects the final close to occur within the next six months, supported by strong investor response.

Fund Size and Investment Strategy

The new fund will deploy capital over the next three to four years across approximately 30 to 35 companies. It will prioritize businesses that have already demonstrated product market fit and are positioned for scale. The investment focus covers defence and aerospace, frontier and strategic technology, energy, and key consumer sectors.

Greenshoe Option and Investor Response

Finvolve has retained a greenshoe option to accommodate additional commitments beyond the first close, citing strong investor response. This structure allows the firm to capture demand while maintaining discipline around entry valuations, deployment, and follow-on capital. The final corpus may exceed the initial target if overall market conditions remain favourable.

Focus on Growth and Late-Stage Opportunities

The fund will target companies that have crossed the early risk phase and are entering their next stage of value creation. Finvolve believes these businesses offer a compelling opportunity because they have established product market fit and visible growth potential. The approach is designed to support founders who are scaling operations and addressing large market opportunities.

Leadership Commentary

Apoorva Vora, co-founder of Finvolve, said the fund sees a compelling opportunity to participate in companies that have moved beyond early risk. He noted that the INR 90 crore first close enables a diversified portfolio across growth and late-stage opportunities. Ashish Bhatia, also a co-founder, added that the fund is designed to support companies at the stage where the right capital and ecosystem can help them scale decisively.

Existing Portfolio and Platform Track Record

Finvolve's existing portfolio includes IG Defence, Indrajaal, Soket AI, Kepler Aerospace and Matter EV, among others. These investments predate the new fund but reflect the sectors where the firm has built strong investment conviction. The platform continues to see a healthy pipeline in deeptech, defence, aerospace, frontier technology and related sectors.

Previous Funds and Deployment Record

The new fund adds to Finvolve's platform of four other active funds, broadening its multi-stage investment capabilities. Its previous Category II fund focused on pre-IPO companies and has fully completed its investment cycle. The broader platform spans investments from pre-seed and growth stages through to companies approaching public markets in India.

Deployment Timeline and Sector Alignment

Final close is expected within the next six months, after which deployment will continue across the identified sectors. Finvolve sees India's expanding strategic capabilities and technology shifts as creating venture-scale opportunities over the next three to four years. The fund aims to back companies in sectors where these shifts are most pronounced.

With the first close complete, Finvolve is positioned to begin targeted deployment while continuing to raise towards its final close. The fund's sector focus aligns with India's growing strategic and technology landscape, where late-stage companies are increasingly able to scale. Over the next three to four years, the firm aims to build a well-diversified portfolio of growth and late-stage companies across its chosen sectors.
