The new module sits within Atlas Detect and gives security teams a complete real-time record of AI activity across the enterprise. It captures full conversation timelines, tool calls, inputs and outputs, token and cost accounting, latency, and security events attributed to a user, team, and workstation.
Closing the Enterprise AI Visibility Gap
The announcement addresses a growing challenge as enterprise AI adoption accelerates. According to McKinsey data cited by eSentire, 76 percent of employees now use AI at work, up from 30 percent two years ago. Many organizations still lack visibility into who is using AI, what data is being accessed, where it is going, and how much it costs, leaving audit and security gaps.
Atlas AIDR is designed to close those gaps through vendor-agnostic capabilities that fit existing security stacks. Financial and operational tracking is also included, with full session timelines and token economics per request rolled up by user, team, and model. James C. Foster, chief executive officer of eSentire, framed the acquisition as a response to an accountability gap. He noted that enterprises are rapidly adopting AI but few can describe what their AI agents are doing with proprietary data or what those agents cost. Foster emphasized that the startup team and product were shipped inside Atlas in weeks, demonstrating the platform advantage over a portfolio approach.
