Elroy Air has expanded its previously disclosed PIPE commitments to a total of $175 million, with participation from existing investors including Lockheed Martin Ventures and Inflection Point. The company confirmed that $75 million has already been funded before the closing of its business combination agreement with Inflection Point Acquisition Corp. VII. This capital increase is intended to accelerate production of the Chaparral autonomous heavy cargo drone for commercial and defense partners.

Strategic Investment and Upsized Funding

Inflection Point Chairman and CEO Michael Blitzer said the increased financial commitment reflects confidence in Elroy Air's progress since the June transaction announcement. He highlighted the new U.S. Army contract, tripled deposit-backed orders with Bristow, and advanced manufacturing timeline with Kratos. Blitzer also noted successful flight demonstrations, including the first autonomous flights under the FAA eIPP.

CEO Perspective on Production

Elroy Air CEO Dr. Andrew Clare said the expanded PIPE funds will help accelerate production and deliver Chaparral at scale to commercial and defense partners. He expressed pride in the support and conviction of Inflection Point and existing investors. Clare added that Lockheed Martin has been a long-standing collaborator and this strategic investment deepens that relationship.

U.S. Army Contract

Elroy Air recently announced a multi-year contract worth up to $46 million with the U.S. Army. The agreement builds on previous Army contracts from the past two years and will focus on ensuring Chaparral can operate alongside service members in contested and austere environments. It will enhance modular multi-mission payload versatility and payload delivery mechanisms.

Autonomous Flight Milestone

The company completed the first autonomous and uncrewed flights authorized under the U.S. Department of Transportation and FAA eVTOL Integration Pilot Program. These flights were conducted with LIFTOFF Louisiana and long-time partner Bristow Group. They demonstrated Chaparral readiness for commercial service across the Gulf Coast energy and industrial corridors in Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi.

Expanded Commercial Orders

Following the milestone, Bristow Group expanded its early delivery reservations for the Chaparral autonomous cargo aircraft by adding 10 additional positions for a total of 15. Bristow previously secured early delivery slots for five Chaparral drones and announced a pre-order agreement for up to 100 units. This expansion signals growing commercial demand for autonomous heavy-lift logistics.

Manufacturing and Aircraft Capability

Kratos Defense and Security Solutions, the exclusive U.S. manufacturer of Chaparral, will produce the aircraft at its expanding Sacramento, California facility with the first production aircraft planned for late 2026. Chaparral is an uncrewed autonomous VTOL aircraft designed to carry more than 500 pounds of cargo and operate with no runways, airstrips, or other fixed infrastructure. Its hybrid-electric powertrain combines electric propulsion with extended range of up to 450 miles and requires no charging infrastructure.

Lockheed Martin Collaboration

Lockheed Martin and Elroy Air intend to collaborate on advanced autonomous systems and joint business development across commercial and defense markets. Chris Moran of Lockheed Martin Ventures said modern conflict depends on the ability to resupply forces quickly without fixed infrastructure that makes traditional logistics vulnerable. He noted that the continued investment signals commitment to mission readiness and reflects pride in seeing Elroy Air take the company public.

Elroy Air's upsized PIPE funding and expanded strategic backing position it for accelerated production and public market entry. Recent milestones in defense, regulatory flight authorization, commercial orders, and manufacturing readiness support the company's growth trajectory. The $175 million investment provides a capital foundation for the next phase of autonomous heavy-cargo logistics.
