Egyptian e-commerce operations platform Fincart has successfully closed an oversubscribed seed funding round of $2.8 million. The round was co-led by Launch Africa and Antler MENAP, with significant participation from Yango Ventures, Five35 Ventures, and other regional investors. This capital injection is earmarked to enhance its AI-powered platform and fuel its expansion across the Middle East and Africa, addressing key operational challenges for online merchants.

A Unified Platform for Merchants

Founded in 2023 by Mostafa Masry and Nihal Ali, Fincart has evolved from a logistics connector into a comprehensive operating system for online businesses. The platform addresses the fragmented nature of e-commerce by unifying logistics, payment reconciliation, and customer engagement. This integrated approach allows merchants to manage their entire workflow through a single, streamlined interface, saving time and reducing complexity.

Fincart provides merchants with access to an extensive network of over 40 courier companies, the largest of its kind in Africa. Its AI-driven tools help businesses monitor delivery performance, automate the complex process of cash reconciliation, and strengthen customer retention. Additionally, the platform offers eligible merchants access to short-term working capital based on their sales data to improve cash flow.

Solving Core Industry Pain Points

The company was established based on the founders' direct experience with the operational hurdles in the region's e-commerce sector. Key challenges include inefficient last-mile delivery and significant delays in reconciling cash-on-delivery payments, which remains a dominant payment method. Fincart was designed to replace the multiple disconnected tools merchants often rely on for their daily operations, creating a single control panel.

The platform's effectiveness is reflected in its strong market adoption, having onboarded over 450 merchants and facilitated nearly EGP 1 billion in gross merchandise value. Fincart's growth has been largely organic, with almost 40% of new clients acquired through referrals, indicating high user satisfaction. This traction demonstrates a clear product-market fit by removing operational friction for online sellers across various categories.

Fueling Regional Expansion and Development

The new funding will be strategically allocated to scale Fincart's commercial and technology teams and further invest in product development. The company also plans to forge new commercial partnerships to solidify its position in its home market of Egypt. This investment provides the necessary foundation for its planned expansion into new markets across the MENA region and Africa.

Investors have expressed strong confidence in Fincart's vision and leadership team, who possess veteran experience from companies like Careem and Delivery Hero. Daniil Shuleyko of Yango Group noted that Fincart simplifies logistics and provides merchants with superior operational and financial tools. This strategic backing includes not just capital but also expertise in scaling technology ventures across international markets.

With this substantial seed funding and strategic support from prominent investors, Fincart is well-positioned for its next phase of growth. The company's focus on building the core operational infrastructure for e-commerce is set to empower countless small and medium-sized businesses across emerging markets. Its upcoming regional expansion and continued platform innovation will be key developments to watch in the evolving tech ecosystem.
