Egypt's Financial Regulatory Authority gave preliminary approval to two new technology projects for its regulatory sandbox. The approvals raise the total number of admitted projects to 11 since the program launched. One project focuses on SME credit scoring, and the other simulates stock trading.

Credit assessment project

We Lend received approval for a project that assesses creditworthiness for small and medium enterprises. It will use artificial intelligence and alternative data in cooperation with Tamweely. The system analyzes financial and operational records, and human review checks the results for reliability.

Trading education platform

Ruya Online for Securities Trading won approval to build a digital learning platform. It uses digital incentives and interactive simulations of the stock market. The platform targets young people aged 15 to 35 and teaches investment and trading in simple stages.

Sandbox supports fintech testing

The regulatory sandbox lets companies test new financial technology under official supervision. FRA Chairman Islam Azzam said it connects innovation with practical use in non-bank financial services. The authority said the sandbox offers a flexible and safe testing environment before products reach the market.

Both approved companies can develop and test their products under the sandbox framework. FRA said two earlier projects have already advanced to live testing. Executive director Ahmed Khalifa said the growing pipeline reflects rising interest from firms and entrepreneurs.
