Darwinz AI, a Saudi-Egyptian artificial intelligence startup, has announced the successful close of a $325,000 seed funding round led by Flat6Labs KSA and Glint Ventures. The investment marks the company’s first institutional backing, transitioning from a bootstrapped operation to one with ambitions of international scale. With its flagship product Dima already improving productivity for marketing and PR teams, the company is poised for its next growth phase.

Origins and Founders: Egyptian Roots, Regional Vision

Founded in Egypt in 2021 by Emad Elazhary and Mohy Aboualam, Darwinz AI has built its foundation on delivering real-world AI solutions for communications professionals. The company has since evolved into a Saudi-Egyptian venture headquartered in Riyadh’s The Garage at KACST, part of its strategy to tap into the vibrant Saudi innovation ecosystem. Aboualam emphasizes the hybrid identity as a strength, combining Egyptian innovation with Saudi scale to serve broader MENA and global markets.

The Core Product: Dima and Its Impact

Darwinz AI’s flagship product, Dima, is an Arabic-first AI copilot built to assist marketing and PR teams with media monitoring, brand sentiment tracking, crisis detection, and analytics. Since its launch in September 2024, the platform has seen rapid adoption across six MENA countries and is now used by more than 300 professionals. According to the company, Dima boosts users’ daily productivity by over 80%, with client retention exceeding 90%.

How the Funding Will Be Used: Focused Execution

The newly raised capital will be channeled into expanding the team at its Riyadh base, accelerating product development, and preparing for global market entry in 2026. Rather than launching new products, the company plans to double down on Dima, refining its capabilities based on ongoing customer feedback. The team aims to optimize the platform to be globally competitive in specific use cases tied to communications and media management.

Strategic Support from Investors: More Than Capital

In addition to financial support, Darwinz AI will benefit from the operational expertise of its new backers. Flat6Labs KSA and Glint Ventures bring a track record of nurturing startups and scaling companies across the region. This strategic alignment is expected to guide Darwinz AI in executing its business plan while laying the groundwork for a more expansive international rollout.

Global Aspirations: From MENA to the World

Although currently focused on the GCC and broader MENA region, Darwinz AI is already laying the groundwork for international growth. The company is working on enhancing Dima’s productization to ensure it is market-ready for global users by 2026. Aboualam notes that the vision is to attract international clients who discover and subscribe to Dima independently, marking a shift from regional presence to global accessibility.

Customer-Centric Development: Evolving with the Market

The startup’s development strategy centers on constant iteration informed by real-world client feedback. With a strong and diverse customer base spanning telecom, F&B, banking, real estate, and public sectors, Dima’s use cases continue to grow. Darwinz AI believes that staying narrowly focused on Dima’s continuous improvement will give it the edge needed to lead globally in its niche.

With its seed funding secured, a growing client base, and a proven AI solution, Darwinz AI is positioned to scale from a regional innovator into a global AI player. The company’s success highlights the growing role of MENA-based startups in the global tech ecosystem, particularly those solving industry-specific pain points. As Dima prepares for international deployment, Darwinz AI’s journey illustrates how focused innovation, paired with strategic funding, can accelerate regional transformation and global reach.
