Context Labs secured a strategic equity investment from Abu Dhabi-based 22/x. The companies also signed a long-term agreement to establish a regional headquarters in Abu Dhabi. Context Labs builds AI data infrastructure that verifies enterprise data for AI systems.
Regional expansion
The partnership will support expansion across the Middle East and North Africa. Context Labs plans to deploy its AI Data Infrastructure and AI Distillery for sovereign AI in the region. Priority sectors include energy, utilities, and critical infrastructure.
Company background
Context Labs was formed out of MIT research. It has offices in Amsterdam, Cambridge, Massachusetts, Houston, and Abu Dhabi. 22/x is an AI-native investment and incubation platform founded by the Al Nowais family.
What the platform does
The platform turns fragmented operational, engineering, and enterprise data into verified, auditable information. Its industry-specific ontologies give data context for sectors such as energy, chemicals, and finance. The AI Distillery lets enterprises run AI models inside their own data centers.
22/x will work with Context Labs to scale the infrastructure across the MENA region. The partners plan to start with defined use cases in the UAE and build a repeatable pathway to other GCC markets. They also aim to involve Emirati talent in deployment work.
