CloudNC, a technology company focused on artificial intelligence for precision machining, has closed a $20 million funding round. Nimble Ventures led the investment, with participation from Calculus Venture Capital, Entrepreneur First, and LM Ventures, the venture capital arm of Lockheed Martin. The company plans to use the capital to broaden adoption of its CAM Assist software and launch new AI-powered products, including Quote Agent.

Funding Led by Nimble Ventures

CloudNC stated that the new financing will help more machine shops adopt its AI solutions and support expansion in both existing and new markets. The company is shifting from early adoption of CAM Assist toward larger-scale commercial deployment. The funds will also be used to strengthen commercial teams, customer service operations, and partnerships in high-growth regions.

CAM Assist Accelerates Production

CAM Assist, CloudNC's flagship product, uses artificial intelligence to significantly reduce the time needed to create CNC machining strategies and toolpaths. This capability allows teams to progress from design to production faster and helps skilled operators increase their output. More than 1,000 machine shops worldwide now use the technology, including several hundred in the United States.

Quote Agent Targets Quoting Bottleneck

CloudNC is also developing Quote Agent, an AI solution for estimating and preparing quotes that is expected to be available in 2026. The product addresses one of the most time-consuming and commercially important steps in machining: evaluating new orders and preparing quotations. By applying AI to estimating, CloudNC aims to help manufacturers respond faster, reduce administrative workloads, and improve confidence during early order assessments.

Leadership Perspectives

Theo Saville, chief executive officer and co-founder of CloudNC, said machine shops are under increasing pressure to quote and program faster while maximizing existing staff and machines. He added that the investment keeps the company focused on improving CAM Assist, expanding into new markets, and building AI products that solve critical workflow bottlenecks. John Burbank, founder of Nimble Ventures, said CloudNC's CNC automation will enable a substantial increase in manufacturing reshoring and production of essential components.

Commercial Expansion and Key Customers

CloudNC is using the investment to support continued growth in its go-to-market activities and to serve a rapidly expanding customer base. Current clients include Lockheed Martin and Major Tool and Machine, reflecting demand from advanced manufacturing and defense sectors. The company plans to strengthen its sales presence, customer support, and partnerships as it scales CAM Assist adoption.

FedRAMP Certification Progress

CloudNC is working with Knox Systems to pursue FedRAMP certification for CAM Assist. This certification would allow U.S. government agencies, defense subcontractors, and other organizations with strict security requirements to use the software for sensitive manufacturing workloads. The effort aligns with CloudNC's strategy to serve regulated industries and expand its addressable market.

Company Background and Growth Strategy

Founded in 2015, CloudNC combines expertise in computing and physical manufacturing from its London headquarters and its Chelmsford factory. The company is focused on removing hidden bottlenecks in precision machining workflows through artificial intelligence. Its roadmap includes deeper CAM Assist capabilities and new products that target critical stages such as quoting, estimating, and order assessment.

With $20 million in new capital, CloudNC is positioned to accelerate adoption of its AI-driven precision machining technology and introduce solutions that address critical production bottlenecks. The round led by Nimble Ventures signals investor confidence in automation as a driver of modern manufacturing. As CloudNC scales commercial deployment and pursues compliance milestones, the company aims to help machine shops worldwide improve speed, consistency, and competitiveness.
