Beacon Founders, a financial platform tailored for tech entrepreneurs, has announced its incorporation of asset manager 314 Capital. This strategic, non-cash transaction elevates the firm's total assets under management to R$ 650 million. The move is designed to create a comprehensive financial partner for Brazil's technology leaders by integrating liquid and illiquid asset management.

A Strategic Union of Leadership and Vision

The merger was executed through a share swap, positioning 314 Capital's founder, Natan Epstein, as a new partner and Chief Investment Officer at Beacon. This integration combines Beacon's focus on illiquid startup equity with 314 Capital's proficiency in managing liquid assets. The deal also welcomes Alfredo Cunha and Juliana Brasil as new partners, bringing valuable experience from firms like BTG Pactual and Julius Baer.

Expanding Assets and Regulatory Capabilities

The transaction significantly boosts Beacon's financial scale, combining 314 Capital's R$ 400 million under management with Beacon's R$ 140 million in equity pools. This brings the total managed assets to R$ 650 million, with an ambitious target to surpass R$ 1 billion by 2026. The deal was initiated during the South Summit Brazil event, highlighting the collaborative nature of the local tech ecosystem.

A critical driver for the incorporation was Beacon's need for a CVM-accredited asset management license. This regulatory approval was essential for the firm to compliantly expand its service offerings into the liquid investment space. CEO Ricardo Duarte emphasized that this step was crucial from a prudence and compliance standpoint before venturing into regulated asset management activities.

A Holistic Platform for the Tech Ecosystem

Beacon defines itself as a family office for startup founders, catering to over 250 individuals and 100 companies within the tech sector. The firm's client base aligns perfectly with that of 314 Capital, where approximately 60% of clients had a technology background. This synergy ensures a seamless cultural and strategic fit between the two entities, focusing on a shared target audience.

With the new structure, Beacon can now offer a broader suite of financial products beyond its core services of corporate structuring and tax planning. The company's pipeline now includes liquid investment offerings such as credit portfolios and FIDC investment funds. This expansion fulfills the firm's vision of providing a complete financial solution for founders throughout their entire wealth journey.

Building on a Foundation of Strong Support

The company's growth is supported by a strong network of backers from Brazil's technology landscape. Founded in 2023, Beacon previously secured a R$ 10 million funding round led by SaaSholic, with participation from Green Rock and AJL Par. This initial capital was bolstered by investments from over 50 prominent angel investors, including the founders of 99, Creditas, and Olist.

Beacon's innovative equity pool model, which allows founders to diversify their illiquid startup shares, has been a key part of its success. The existing two funds gather nearly 200 founders and represent over R$ 140 million in contributed equity. The company is already planning to launch a third equity pool in 2027 to continue expanding this unique offering.

This incorporation marks a pivotal moment for Beacon Founders, transforming it into a more robust and versatile financial institution. By bridging the gap between liquid and illiquid investments, the firm is better positioned to serve as the long-term financial partner for Brazil's innovators. The move solidifies its mission to support the entrepreneurs who are shaping the country's economic future through technology.
