SITR Compliance Technology has launched a Shariah compliance monitoring platform for Islamic financial institutions. The Bahrain Economic Development Board-backed startup announced the move during Gateway Gulf 2026 in Manama. It plans to serve Islamic banks and other Shariah-compliant institutions across the GCC.
Platform coverage
The company serves Islamic banks across retail, commercial, and wholesale activity. It also supports investment funds, exchange-traded funds, brokerages, and consumer finance providers. Its coverage includes Murabaha, Tawarruq, Ijarah, Musharaka, Mudaraba, Wakala, and Sukuk.
Company context
SITR is an early-stage regulatory technology startup. It selected Bahrain as its headquarters partly because the kingdom hosts the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions. The company developed the platform with Shariah audit and compliance teams at Bahraini Islamic financial institutions.
What the platform does
The platform reviews executed transactions against the rulings of an institution's Shariah supervisory board on a continuous basis. It gives compliance and audit teams visibility across the full transaction population. It connects to core banking systems through read-only integrations and can ingest scanned PDF contracts.
SITR will serve institutions in Bahrain and across the GCC from its Manama base. The company plans to hire Bahraini talent across business development, operations, and product. It said this will support the kingdom's economic diversification and fintech ecosystem.
