Viabot Raises $24 Million Series A for Autonomous Outdoor Robotics

Funding led by Walden International to scale outdoor property care robotics for enterprise demand

Viabot, an autonomous robotics startup headquartered in Santa Clara, California, announced on September 17, 2026 that it has secured a $24 million Series A funding round led by Walden International. The round includes participation from CDIB Capital Group and Stalwart Ventures, along with existing investors Baseline Ventures, Era Ventures, Morado Ventures, and SOSV. This latest investment brings the company's total capital raised to $43 million as it works to address growing enterprise demand for autonomous property management robotics.


Funding Strategy and Investor Support

The Series A adds new institutional partners while retaining early backers who have supported Viabot since its seed stage. Viabot plans to use the capital to expand its sales and engineering teams, accelerate new product development, and further improve its robotics-as-a-service platform and the Viabot One. Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder Gregg Ratanaphanyarat described the investment as an important new chapter in the company's mission to give teams their time back.

Inside the Viabot One Platform

The company's flagship Viabot One services 25 million square feet of commercial property and is trained on more than 5 billion square feet of multimodal data. Its design includes autonomous tool swapping and hot-swappable batteries for 12 to 24 hour runs, with a primary function of sweeping and cleaning trash and debris up to 10 inches. The platform also offers supplementary soft security services such as loitering detection and asset monitoring, improving continuously through remote software updates.

Navigation and Autonomy Features

The Viabot One relies on cameras, lidar, depth sensors, DGPS, and dynamic path planning to map and navigate its environment, follow scheduled routes, and adapt to changing conditions. After completing a scheduled run, the robot independently returns to its docking station to recharge and empty collected debris into standard trash bins. It requires only a standard 120V outlet to operate, which simplifies deployment for commercial property teams.

Market Adoption and Customer Base

Following the release of its RUNO prototype in 2021, Viabot validated the Viabot One through real-world deployments that produced unit economic profitability, contract renewals, and new business. The company has expanded service nationally to California, Florida, Indiana, Missouri, Nevada, North Carolina, Texas, and Virginia. Its customers include Fortune 500 retailers, higher education institutions, multinational real estate owners, developers, and property management firms across retail, office, healthcare, and utility sectors.

Addressing Litter and Industry Growth

Businesses spend an estimated $9.1 billion annually on litter cleanup, and 94 percent of Americans view litter as a major problem, according to recent studies cited by the company. Demand for robotics-as-a-service accelerated by 42 percent in 2024, while the global autonomous sweeper market surpassed $1.17 billion in 2025. Viabot says these trends are fueling interest in autonomous infrastructure that addresses both environmental debris removal requirements and public concern about litter.

Leadership and Future Plans

Viabot was founded by CEO Gregg Ratanaphanyarat, who conceived the idea while attending college, and CTO and Co-Founder Dawei Ding. Under their leadership, the company emerged as a market leader in 2025 by pioneering outdoor mobile robotics-as-a-service, cloud, and AI technology for large-scale sweeping, debris removal, and soft security. Ratanaphanyarat said the new funding will help expand the team, advance platform intelligence, and bring practical robotics to more places where people live, work, and gather.


With $43 million in total funding and a national footprint across eight states, Viabot is positioned to scale its autonomous property care platform for enterprise customers. The company's approach combines visible environmental benefits with operational efficiency, allowing property teams to focus on higher-value work. As demand for autonomous outdoor maintenance continues to grow, Viabot aims to extend its technology to more commercial properties, campuses, and community environments.
