U Mobile and Cradle Fund are expanding their partnership to help Malaysian startups test 5G-Advanced and AI solutions. U Mobile runs Malaysia's second 5G network. Cradle is a government-linked startup agency.
Partnership duties
Cradle brings its startup pipeline, programs, and possible funding routes. U Mobile provides a 5G-A and AI sandbox, engineers, and introductions to enterprise buyers. Specific sandbox access depends on engagement and technical requirements, while funding and commercial deals are not guaranteed.
U Mobile's network
U Mobile won Malaysia's second 5G network bid on 1 November 2024. It received its letter of award on 31 March 2025. By September 2026, coverage reached 90% of populated areas, up from 80% in March.
What startups get
U Mobile's Enterprise Innovation Platform connects startups, enterprises, technology companies, academics, and ecosystem partners. Its EIP Hub offers space for technical testing and demonstrations. Since September 2026, the collaboration has included a Cradle roadshow in Sarawak and a MYStartup demo day.
U Mobile plans to connect more innovators with EIP's 5G-A and AI capabilities. Cradle wants more Malaysian startups to scale regionally and globally. Support will continue through startup engagements and innovation activities.
