Japan's TISI Inc. has invested in Taiwan-based FaceHeart Inc., a healthtech company that uses AI to measure vital signs from facial images. The investment was announced on November 6, 2026. TISI plans to work with FaceHeart on preventive healthcare and health management services in Japan.

Plans for collaboration in Japan

TISI will support FaceHeart's expansion into Japan and explore services for preventive care, workplace health, and elderly care facilities. The companies also plan joint technology trials with TISI group businesses. Their collaboration will combine FaceHeart's health monitoring technology with TISI's software development capabilities and customer network.

The companies behind the investment

FaceHeart is headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan, and is chaired by Meng-Liang Chung. TISI, led by President and CEO Yasushi Okamoto, is a Japanese IT services company within the TIS INTEC Group. The company serves more than 4,500 clients and provides over 300 services and solutions.

How FaceHeart's technology works

FaceHeart Vitals uses remote photoplethysmography (rPPG) to measure heart rate and respiratory rate through standard cameras. The technology has received US Food and Drug Administration 510(k) clearance for both measurements. Its software development kit allows businesses to integrate contactless health monitoring into existing applications and devices.

TISI plans to install FaceHeart's CardioMirror smart mirror at its headquarters and Toyosu office. The device uses facial scans to measure heart rate, blood pressure, and other health indicators. Testing is scheduled to begin on November 6, 2026, to demonstrate the technology to visitors and encourage employee health awareness.
