Tickets for Good, a Sheffield based platform providing affordable live event access to key workers and people on cost of living support, has raised £3.9 million to accelerate international expansion. The round was led by Mercia Ventures through the NPIF II Mercia Equity Finance fund, with participation from Shaping Impact Group, Finance Yorkshire, Leansquare and private investors. The funding will support new overseas markets and job creation in Sheffield.

Funding and Growth Strategy

The new investment brings together institutional and private capital aligned with the company's social mission. Mercia Ventures led the round through NPIF II, a £660 million fund covering the North of England that provides loans and equity investment to small and medium sized businesses. The capital will help Tickets for Good expand beyond its existing markets while preserving its South Yorkshire base.

Purpose of the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund II

The £660 million Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund II covers the entire North of England and provides loans from £25,000 to £2 million alongside equity investment of up to £5 million. It is designed to drive sustainable economic growth by supporting innovation and creating local opportunities for new and growing businesses. The fund also aims to increase the supply and diversity of early-stage finance for smaller firms across the North.

How the Platform Creates Access

Tickets for Good distributes surplus tickets donated by event partners to NHS workers, teachers, charity staff and people receiving Cost of Living support. Members join the platform for free and pay only a nominal transaction fee for each ticket, making live events affordable for audiences that might otherwise be priced out. The model helps venues and promoters maximise capacity, generate ancillary revenue and reach new fans.

Origins and Ambassador Network

The company was founded in Sheffield by Steve Rimmer, a serial entrepreneur and promoter, and the late Neville Mosey, a music enthusiast who passed away in 2023. It began trading in 2022 and has grown to almost 750,000 verified members globally, with more than 1.25 million tickets distributed. Ambassador support comes from Robbie Williams, former Dutch international goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar, and music entrepreneur Hans Brouwer, while Yorkshire artist Yungblud has also backed the organisation with ticket donations.

International Reach and Job Creation

Tickets for Good entered the United States in 2023 after being accepted onto the Comcast SportsTech accelerator in St Louis. The company now operates in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany in addition to its UK and US activities. It doubled its revenue in 2025 and is targeting five-fold growth over the next three years, with the new funding expected to create ten additional jobs in Sheffield.

Leadership and Investor Perspective

Chief executive Steve Rimmer said the business was built on a belief that live events should be available to everyone, especially those who give much to their communities. He described the investment as a vote of confidence in the team, partners and impact, supporting international growth and skilled local jobs. Chris Borrett of Mercia Ventures noted that strong live event demand coexists with rising price barriers, and Tickets for Good aligns consumer and venue interests.

The latest funding reinforces Tickets for Good's role in a fast changing live entertainment economy where access and attendance are increasingly connected. With almost 750,000 members and a growing international footprint, the company is well positioned to turn unused capacity into meaningful social impact. Its expansion plans are expected to strengthen Sheffield's creative and technology sectors while making live events more accessible to communities across Europe and North America.
