Silk, a purpose-built data platform for agentic artificial intelligence workloads, announced on September 23, 2026 that it has closed a $45 million growth capital facility. The financing was led by Avenue Capital Group, with participation from Sequoia Capital, S Capital VC, Vintage Investment Partners, Ibex Investors, and West Coast Equity Partners. The company said the new capital will support product development, market expansion, and deeper enterprise engagement across major cloud platforms.

Market Tailwinds and Rising Agentic Demand

The funding arrives as agent-driven workloads become the dominant source of AI infrastructure demand. More than half of all traffic across Cloudflare's global network is generated by machines rather than humans, while daily AI agent requests grew more than 1,700 percent year over year. These workloads create bursty access patterns that general-purpose cloud data infrastructure was not designed to absorb, leading to unpredictable latency, contention, and rising cost curves.

Strategic Use of Proceeds

Silk plans to expand engineering investment in its data platform to stay ahead of agentic demand. The company will also scale go-to-market coverage for neocloud, sovereign, and inference cloud providers that are emerging as the new center of gravity for AI infrastructure. In parallel, Silk intends to deepen its enterprise footprint across Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud.

Leadership Perspectives

Dani Golan, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Silk, said the shift from training-centric infrastructure toward autonomous agent-based production is happening now. He noted that organizations are spending enormous sums on compute only to wait on the data layer beneath it. The new capital, he added, lets the company build ahead of agentic demand and bring AI to the data.

Investor Confidence

Tony Pandjiris, Senior Portfolio Manager of Avenue Capital Group's Growth Lending Strategy, said the firm underwrote Silk's recurring enterprise revenue base and its position in an inflecting market. He described agentic AI as moving from pilot to production across the enterprise, with the data layer remaining a bottleneck. Silk's traction with global enterprise customers and cloud providers, along with the platform's measurable economics, gave Avenue conviction in the investment.

Commercial Momentum and Recent Developments

The financing follows a period of sustained commercial expansion for Silk. The company recently validated support for the latest AI-optimized cloud instance families. Silk also appointed Aaron Shoffa as Chief Business Development Officer to lead alliances with neocloud, sovereign, and inference cloud providers, reflecting the company's focus on emerging AI infrastructure partners.

From GPU Capacity to Enterprise AI Services

The growth in agent-based traffic is pushing cloud providers beyond simply selling raw GPU capacity. Silk sees this as a shift toward higher-value enterprise AI services that require data infrastructure capable of handling live, agent-driven requests in real time. The company's platform is positioned to support these workloads as organizations move from pilot programs to full production.

Strategic Vision for Neocloud and Inference Markets

Dani Golan added that neocloud, sovereign, and inference clouds are the new center of gravity for AI infrastructure. He said the need to absorb agent-driven, real-time data requests is here now. According to Golan, Avenue understands infrastructure businesses at this stage and moves with the speed and clarity the market demands, which helps Silk extend its first-mover advantage while the category is forming.

With the new growth capital facility, Silk aims to strengthen its position in a market shifting rapidly toward agentic AI production. The company plans to invest in platform development and partnerships that address the data layer bottleneck behind large-scale AI workloads. As enterprises and cloud providers prioritize real-time data performance, Silk's expansion strategy may shape how agentic AI infrastructure is delivered.
