SecureSky, a provider of exposure management and patented artificial intelligence based managed detection and response services, announced on September 9, 2026 that it has acquired Soveren, a London based innovator in data security posture management. The acquisition extends SecureSky's platform to include real time machine learning based discovery and protection of sensitive data across cloud native and on premises environments. The move reflects growing demand for unified security visibility as organizations manage complex hybrid infrastructures.

Strategic Rationale Behind the Acquisition

The deal combines SecureSky's patented continuous threat exposure management platform with Soveren's machine learning driven data security capabilities. SecureSky aims to provide clients with a single view of vulnerabilities, threats, and sensitive data flows across their entire environment. This integration is designed to help security teams validate controls and reduce risk as cyber adversaries move with greater speed and automation.

Soveren's Technical Differentiation

Soveren uses eBPF powered network analysis and machine learning classification to deliver continuous visibility into sensitive data with 98 percent accuracy. Unlike legacy tools that rely heavily on regex detection and static snapshots, Soveren reduces false positives and inspects encrypted TLS traffic at scale without impacting application speed. These capabilities allow organizations to detect data exposure in real time, including in areas where other solutions remain blind.

Executive Commentary on the Combination

Michael Hrabik, chief executive officer of SecureSky, said that Soveren's highly rated data security platform and high scale data expertise represent significant value for customers. He noted that continuous visibility and proactive validation of security controls are crucial in today's complex hybrid environments. Hrabik added that combining SecureSky's artificial intelligence based CTEM platform with Soveren's DSPM enables unified visibility and protection across client environments.

Founder Vision and Market Credibility

Soveren was founded in 2021 by Peter Fedchenkov, Andrew Zhulin, and Dmitry Zhulin to solve data observability problems they experienced while scaling a previous e commerce business to two billion dollars in revenue. Fedchenkov said SecureSky shares the commitment to providing automated, actionable, real time data observability and controls validation. The founders expressed excitement about bringing Soveren's ability to detect sensitive data in encrypted traffic to SecureSky's customers.

Strong Market Validation and Investor Support

Soveren has earned a 4.9 rating on G2 and a 5.0 rating on Gartner Peer Insights, reflecting strong user satisfaction with its unified data security platform. The company previously raised ten million dollars from investors and technology leaders including founders and chief executives of Airbnb, Slack, Datadog, Palo Alto Networks, MuleSoft, and Deel. Additional backing came from Sir Richard Branson's family and European venture capital firms firstminute capital, Northzone, and LocalGlobe.

Customer and Industry Implications

The acquisition positions SecureSky to offer a broader security platform that spans threat exposure management and data security posture management. Customers can expect improved visibility into sensitive data flows, better classification accuracy, and stronger validation of security controls across hybrid environments. As regulatory pressure and data protection demands increase, the combined capabilities may help organizations respond more quickly to potential security gaps.

With this acquisition, SecureSky strengthens its ability to help organizations manage risk across both infrastructure and sensitive data in real time. The integration of Soveren's machine learning driven observability into SecureSky's platform reflects a broader industry shift toward unified security operations. Customers and partners will likely watch closely as the combined teams work to deliver on the promise of continuous, automated protection in an increasingly complex threat landscape.
