Danish proptech startup Cortas has raised approximately €1.47 million in a Pre-Seed round led by PSV Tech. JRNY Capital, EIFO, and tech entrepreneurs, including founders of Flatpay and Spirii, also participated. Based in Copenhagen, Cortas combines property management services with software developed in-house.

Investors back the founders

PSV Tech backed Cortas partly because of its founders' experience working with institutional property investors. The investment firm has supported Nordic technology companies for more than 20 years, including Lunar, Helloflow, and Spektr. Spirii founder Tore Harritshøj also joined the round as an individual investor.

Experience in real estate

Cortas was founded by Christian Pind Schmidt and Frederik Buchardt, who previously worked together at Danish real estate investor Thylander. Pind Schmidt, who serves as CEO, later worked at McKinsey in Denmark. Buchardt serves as COO, and the company focuses on serving institutional real estate investors.

How the service works

Cortas handles everyday property operations, including tenant inquiries, move-ins, move-outs, bookkeeping, and financial management. Its model combines specialist employees with proprietary software and automated workflows. The company aims to automate administrative tasks while leaving work requiring judgment, expertise, and personal relationships to employees.

Cortas plans to use the new funding to develop its technology and expand its team. It also intends to establish itself as an alternative to traditional property management providers in Denmark. The market includes established companies such as DEAS, Newsec, and CEJ, which together account for more than a third of the Danish market.
