Samplix announced a €25 million first closing led by WLanholding GmbH. The round includes €3 million in new capital and €22 million in shareholder convertible-bond conversions. Samplix offers Xdrop, a single-cell screening platform for antibody discovery.
Financing structure
The round remains open to additional investors. Samplix targets €30 million in total financing. All major shareholders participated in the first closing.
What Samplix does
Samplix supplies droplet microfluidics technology to biopharmaceutical companies and academic institutions. Its Xdrop platform encapsulates living cells and assay components in double-emulsion droplets. Researchers use the droplets with standard flow cytometry and cell-sorting equipment.
Platform capabilities
The platform helps researchers identify and recover antibody-secreting cells from primary samples. It preserves native heavy- and light-chain pairing. It also supports workflows in immunotherapy, cell line development, and genome editing.
Dr Werner Lanthaler will join Samplix's Board of Directors within the next year. He will work with the management team to guide the company's next growth phase. Samplix plans to scale the Xdrop platform and deepen partnerships with biopharma and academia.
