REVYN has officially launched in the United Arab Emirates, introducing the country's first zero-commission resale marketplace for sellers. The new platform, available on iOS and Android, aims to revolutionize the second-hand market by making it seamless and profitable for users to extend the life of their products. In a strong signal of market demand, the app has already surpassed 1,000 registered users and 900 active listings within its first month of operation.

Solving the Resale Puzzle

The platform was created to address a significant gap in the GCC's resale landscape, which has long been fragmented by unreliable buyers, difficult negotiations, and logistical challenges. Founders Federica Bonometti and Malahat Peyvandi were inspired by the convenience of resale platforms in Europe and the US. They identified a clear appetite for second-hand shopping in the region but a lack of a dedicated, user-friendly platform to facilitate it safely and efficiently.

REVYN offers a comprehensive solution by integrating secure payments and door-to-door shipping directly within its editorial-style application. This modern approach transforms the experience of buying and selling pre-loved items, which span from fashion and accessories to homeware, electronics, and books. By managing the entire transaction process, the platform provides the trust and convenience that consumers have come to expect from modern e-commerce.

A Disruptive Financial Model

At the core of REVYN's strategy is its disruptive business model, which allows sellers to list items for free and keep 100% of their earnings. Unlike competitors that charge seller commissions, REVYN generates revenue through a transparent buyer-side fee of 10% plus a fixed AED 2.5 per transaction. This seller-centric approach is designed to encourage a higher volume of quality listings, creating a more vibrant and diverse marketplace for all users.

Championing the Circular Economy

The platform's launch is timely, aligning perfectly with the UAE's growing focus on sustainability and the circular economy. With the country discarding approximately 220,000 tonnes of textiles annually, REVYN provides a practical tool for consumers to combat waste. Its mission directly supports national strategies such as the 'Naseej' initiative, which aims to promote the reuse and recycling of products within the textile sector.

Early Momentum and Future Ambitions

The impressive early traction of over 1,000 users and 900 listings in just one month serves as powerful validation for REVYN's concept. This initial success is bolstered by support from Dubai's thriving startup ecosystem, with backing from in5 Tech and Founders HQ. Operating from Dubai Internet City, the company is well-positioned within a network that fosters technological innovation and growth.

Looking ahead, REVYN is preparing for its next phase of growth by opening an investment round to angel investors. The capital raised will be used to fuel its expansion plans and solidify its position as the leading peer-to-peer resale platform in the region. The founders aim to build on this early momentum to capture the significant opportunity in the GCC's burgeoning second-hand economy.

REVYN enters the market not merely as another app but as a catalyst for changing consumer behavior toward more sustainable practices. By building a platform centered on convenience, trust, and a financially rewarding model for sellers, it is poised to normalize the circular economy in the UAE and beyond. The company's successful launch suggests the region is ready to embrace resale as an integral part of modern commerce.
