British fintech giant Revolut has achieved a staggering $115 billion valuation following a new secondary share sale. This development solidifies its status as Europe's most valuable private company, placing its worth above established financial institutions like Barclays. The new valuation represents a significant 53% increase in less than a year, underscoring the firm's accelerated growth trajectory.

A Surge in Valuation

The valuation was established through a secondary transaction pricing shares at $2,017 each, allowing employees and early investors to sell their holdings. This marks a dramatic climb from its $75 billion valuation in November 2025 and its $45 billion mark in August 2024. In effect, the company's perceived value has nearly tripled in just over two years, showcasing remarkable investor confidence.

This impressive valuation is supported by robust financial performance, with the company reporting $2.3 billion in pre-tax profit for 2025. Revenue for the same period grew by 46% to reach nearly $6 billion, demonstrating sustained momentum. These strong fundamentals provide a solid foundation for the company's elevated market position and future growth ambitions.

Strategic Expansion and Regulatory Wins

Revolut's growth is also fueled by significant regulatory milestones that expand its operational capabilities. In March 2026, the company secured a full banking license in the United Kingdom, a crucial step for its home market. Concurrently, it applied for a national bank charter in the United States, signaling a major push into the American market.

The company has set ambitious targets for the coming years, aiming to reach 100 million customers by 2027. To achieve this, Revolut has committed $13 billion towards a global expansion plan that targets a presence in over 30 markets by 2030. This strategy includes strengthening its operations in regions like Brazil, where it has been active since 2023.

Competitive Landscape and Market Position

The new valuation intensifies the comparison with its global rival, Brazilian digital bank Nubank, which has a market capitalization of around $65 billion. While Nubank boasts a larger customer base with over 127 million users, Revolut's valuation is nearly double. This contrast highlights the different metrics investors are using to assess the two fintech powerhouses.

Analysts suggest Revolut's premium valuation is justified by its distinct business model, which is more global and less dependent on capital-intensive credit. Unlike Nubank's focus on Latin American credit markets, Revolut offers diversified revenue streams and holds a lead in total deposits. This capital-light approach is seen as a key factor supporting its higher trading multiples.

Revolut's $115 billion valuation is a clear indicator of its successful strategy, combining rapid user growth with strong financial results and key regulatory approvals. The fintech firm is now firmly positioned as a dominant force in the global financial technology landscape. With a potential IPO planned for 2028 and a target valuation of $200 billion, all eyes are on Revolut's next moves.
