Global financial technology company Revolut has appointed Kuba Fast, the former chief executive of Chase UK, to lead its European banking entity. This strategic hire is a pivotal moment in the company's expansion across the European Economic Area (EEA). Fast's appointment is set to accelerate Revolut's mission to become the primary financial institution for its millions of customers.

A Strategic Leadership Transition

Kuba Fast brings a wealth of experience in digital and retail banking to his new position. He previously spent nearly seven years at JPMorgan Chase, where he was instrumental in launching its international consumer banking offering and later served as CEO of Chase UK. His impressive career also includes leadership roles at Poland's mBank, a partnership at McKinsey & Company, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

The appointment, which is subject to approval from the European Central Bank and the Bank of Lithuania, has been met with enthusiasm from Revolut's leadership. Revolut CEO Nik Storonsky stated that Fast's track record in scaling digital banking and his deep regulatory understanding make him a strong addition. This expertise is expected to solidify Revolut's position as the continent's leading bank.

Restructuring for European Growth

This leadership change is part of a broader strategic reorganization of Revolut's European banking operations. The company is transitioning to a dual-hub model to better serve its diverse customer base across the continent. Alongside its established Lithuanian entity, Revolut is establishing a new banking center in France to strengthen its presence in Western Europe.

The restructuring involves other key leadership movements within the company. Joe Heneghan, the former CEO of Revolut Bank UAB, will now lead Revolut Holdings Europe UAB, ensuring strategic and regulatory alignment across all European markets. The new French banking hub will be headed by Béatrice Cossa-Dumurgier, who will serve as the CEO for Western Europe.

Vision for the Future

Dovilė Grigienė, Chair of the Supervisory Board of Revolut Bank UAB, highlighted the importance of this appointment for the company's future. She noted that Fast's experience in combining traditional banking with digital innovation supports Revolut's goal of becoming the primary bank for Europeans. This move will also strengthen cooperation with regulators and ensure responsible growth across the region.

In his own statement, Kuba Fast expressed his excitement about joining the fintech giant. He emphasized that Revolut has fundamentally changed consumer expectations for financial institutions and that he is eager to accelerate its banking services across the EEA. Fast aims to deliver innovative, localized products to prove that everyday finance can be simpler and more affordable.

The appointment of Kuba Fast marks a significant step in Revolut's strategic evolution within the European financial landscape. His extensive experience, combined with the company's structural reorganization, signals a clear and ambitious plan for sustained growth. This move positions Revolut to enhance its services for over 55 million European customers and solidify its status as a dominant force in digital banking.
