Limerick-based enterprise resource planning provider Redfaire has successfully secured a €13 million minority investment from the growth capital firm BGF. This significant funding is earmarked to fuel the company's ambitious international expansion plans and support its ongoing service development. The investment marks a new chapter for Redfaire as it aims to scale its operations and pursue a targeted acquisition strategy.

Strategic Growth and Expansion

The capital injection will be strategically deployed to accelerate Redfaire's global footprint, enhance its service offerings, and execute selective acquisitions. This move follows the company's recent purchase of eKal Solutions, which broadened its capabilities in human capital and supply chain management. The new funding enables Redfaire to build upon this momentum and further solidify its market position.

Brian McInerney, CEO and co-founder of Redfaire, stated the investment is a strong endorsement of the team's customer-centric approach. He noted that BGF's backing provides the resources to fast-track international growth and broaden the company's expertise. McInerney highlighted the shared long-term, growth-focused mindset between the two organizations as key to the partnership.

A Profile of Redfaire's Expertise

Founded in 2003, Redfaire helps businesses modernize their ERP systems with cloud and hybrid solutions. The company provides a comprehensive suite of services, including consulting, implementation, and application support. It specializes in Oracle’s JD Edwards ERP software and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, addressing complex challenges for its clients.

Headquartered in Limerick, the company employs over 200 professionals dedicated to serving a global clientele. Redfaire supports blue-chip enterprises with mission-critical systems across Ireland, the UK, Europe, and North America. Its role as a founding partner of the Redfaire International network extends its reach across 23 countries.

The Investor's Perspective

BGF is one of the most active equity investors in Ireland and the UK, providing growth capital to entrepreneurial businesses. Backed by major financial institutions, the firm typically invests for a minority shareholding. This model allows BGF to support scaling companies with capital and strategic guidance without taking control.

MJ Murphy, an investor at BGF, described Redfaire as an ideal example of the ambitious businesses the firm supports. He praised the team for building a differentiated practice founded on deep technical expertise and strong client relationships. Murphy affirmed the opportunity now lies in scaling the business internationally through both organic growth and acquisitions.

New Leadership to Steer Growth

Coinciding with the investment, Redfaire has appointed Glenn Timms as Non-Executive Chair through the BGF Talent Network. This resource connects portfolio companies with experienced industry leaders to guide them through expansion. His appointment is a strategic move designed to steer Redfaire through its next phase of transformation.

Timms brings relevant experience from his time as a PwC Corporate Finance Partner and CEO of IESA. His background includes extensive work with enterprise software and supporting private equity-backed businesses through rapid growth. This expertise in international scaling and acquisitions aligns perfectly with Redfaire's current ambitions for global development.

This €13 million investment from BGF, coupled with new leadership, strongly positions Redfaire for its next stage of development. The infusion of capital and expertise will enable the company to accelerate its international growth and enhance its service portfolio. This partnership signals a period of significant opportunity and expansion for the Limerick-headquartered technology firm.
