Pathfinder, a fintech platform for education savings account funds, raised a US$12 million Series A. Portage Ventures led the round. Reach Capital, Gradient, and Stand Together Ventures Lab also participated.
Funding so far
The Series A brings Pathfinder's total funding to US$16 million. Its earlier US$4 million Seed round was co-led by Reach Capital and Gradient. The new capital will support platform innovation and product development.
Arizona launch and growth
Pathfinder launched in Arizona in March. It now serves more than 8,000 accounts and reports roughly 2x month-over-month growth. Arizona's ESA program serves more than 108,000 students.
What families get
Pathfinder combines a Visa charge card with a companion app. Families use the card for approved educational supplies and services. The app's AI tools offer real-time expense guidance and automate receipts and reimbursement requests.
Pathfinder plans to operate in at least six states in 2027. It is pursuing money transmitter and servicing licenses. The company is expanding beyond Arizona as more states launch ESA programs.
