Saudi Arabia’s technology sector is continuing its rapid expansion as new investments in artificial intelligence infrastructure emerge across the kingdom. Al Moammar Information Systems Co. (MIS) has secured a significant contract to design and construct a dedicated artificial intelligence-focused private data centre for HUMAIN, a company owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF). The project highlights Saudi Arabia’s growing emphasis on strengthening digital infrastructure and advancing AI capabilities as part of its broader economic transformation.

Major Data Centre Project Announced

MIS confirmed that the contract involves delivering a specialised data centre designed specifically to support artificial intelligence operations. The agreement covers the design and construction of the facility and is scheduled to run for a period of 12 months. According to the company, the project value is expected to exceed 155 percent of its total revenue reported in 2024.

Based on MIS’s financial performance in 2024, the estimated contract value is approximately $501 million. This substantial figure reflects the scale of the infrastructure required to support advanced computing workloads associated with artificial intelligence technologies. The development is expected to significantly enhance the digital capabilities of HUMAIN as demand for high-performance computing continues to grow.

Strengthening Saudi Arabia’s AI Infrastructure

The new facility will be tailored to support the computing power required for AI applications, including large-scale data processing and machine learning workloads. Dedicated AI data centres are becoming increasingly important as organisations adopt more complex models that require powerful processing infrastructure. The project aligns with Saudi Arabia’s broader ambitions to position itself as a regional hub for artificial intelligence and advanced technologies.

HUMAIN has been actively expanding its digital capabilities, particularly in areas related to data processing and creative digital assets. The company focuses on delivering high-quality digital content including images, videos, text, and other creative media. By investing in advanced infrastructure, HUMAIN aims to improve the efficiency and scalability of its digital production and AI-driven services.

Continued Collaboration Between MIS and HUMAIN

This is not the first collaboration between MIS and HUMAIN, as the Saudi technology company secured a similar project from HUMAIN in December 2025. The repeated partnership suggests growing confidence in MIS’s ability to deliver large-scale digital infrastructure projects. Such collaborations are becoming increasingly common as companies accelerate their investments in AI-focused technology ecosystems.

MIS has also been expanding its own data centre capabilities in response to rising demand for digital services. In November, the company received a development commencement notice from the Saudi Data Centres Fund 1 to expand the capacity of its existing data centre facilities. The expansion will initially add 72 megawatts of capacity out of a planned total of 112 megawatts.

Expanding Data Centre Capacity in the Kingdom

The broader data centre expansion project is expected to cost around $800 million and represents another significant investment in Saudi Arabia’s digital infrastructure. Increasing data centre capacity is essential as organisations across industries rely more heavily on cloud computing, data analytics, and artificial intelligence technologies. These facilities provide the foundational infrastructure needed to support digital transformation across both public and private sectors.

The expansion also reflects the kingdom’s strategy to build a robust digital ecosystem capable of supporting future technologies. Large-scale data centres are becoming critical assets for countries seeking to attract global technology companies and innovation-driven industries. Saudi Arabia’s ongoing investments demonstrate its commitment to strengthening its position in the global technology landscape.

The new AI-focused data centre project awarded to MIS marks a major step in Saudi Arabia’s efforts to expand its artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure. With an estimated value of roughly $501 million, the development underscores the increasing scale of investment required to support advanced computing technologies. As collaborations between technology providers and AI-driven companies continue to grow, projects like this are expected to play a key role in shaping the kingdom’s digital future.
