MediBloc, a healthcare blockchain company, has partnered with CertiLife to issue medical device authenticity certificates as NFTs on Panacea. The companies announced a memorandum of understanding and completed the technical integration. CertiLife certificates are used at about 400 medical institutions.

How the certificates work

Each certificate a patient receives at a clinic will be recorded as an NFT on Panacea. The blockchain record includes the product used, the medical institution, and the date. This makes the record practically impossible to alter after the fact.

CertiLife's current reach

CertiLife operates at about 400 medical institutions. It has issued 719,858 certificates to more than 365,000 patients so far. Around 150,000 patients receive a CertiLife certificate each year.

What patients get

Patients can keep the certificate on their smartphone. They can pull it up whenever they need proof of a procedure. The NFT certificates are designed for everyday use rather than trading.

MediBloc plans to continue working with partners to expand real-world use cases for Panacea. CertiLife aims to make adoption easier for more clinics and manufacturers. The integration will add practical clinical records to the blockchain.
