Polish childcare management platform LiveKid has announced its acquisition of Aldea, a leading software provider for preschools in Mexico. This strategic move significantly expands LiveKid's footprint into the burgeoning Latin American early education market. The combined company now serves over 5,000 educational centers and 600,000 parents across Europe and Latin America.
A Strategic Move into Latin America
The acquisition marks a pivotal step in LiveKid's international growth, following its earlier purchase of Spain's Schooltivity this year. Aldea has established a strong market presence in northern Mexico, particularly in Monterrey, before expanding to Colombia and Chile. Its platform is highly regarded for managing parent payments and center operations, making it a valuable asset.
Mexico represents one of the world's largest and most fragmented early education markets, serving as a key gateway to the region. Jorge Dzul, co-founder of Aldea, noted that solutions proven in Mexico can scale effectively to countries like Colombia and Peru. He highlighted that LiveKid is the ideal partner, bringing a shared vision and extensive product experience to the table.
Integration and Leadership Structure
To ensure a smooth transition and leverage local brand recognition, the platform will continue to operate as Aldea across Latin America. The integrated Mexican team will be headquartered in Monterrey, working in close collaboration with LiveKid's existing hubs in Kraków and Barcelona. This structure is designed to foster synergy between the European and Latin American operations.
The new leadership structure is designed for continuity and strategic growth in the region. Aldea co-founder Jorge Dzul will remain to lead operations as the general manager for Mexico and Latin America. His partner, Luis Garza Sada, will join LiveKid's board to provide strategic guidance on regional expansion efforts.
Expanding Global Footprint and Impact
Following the merger, the consolidated entity boasts a significant global presence in the ed-tech sector. The platform supports a network of over 5,000 educational institutions and more than 600,000 parents across a dozen countries. Annually, it processes over $400 million in payments for tuition and other essential childcare services.
LiveKid founder and CEO Jakub Pawelski praised Aldea for building a leading position in payments and administration. He emphasized the value of the Aldea team's deep understanding of the local market and its specific challenges. Pawelski expressed confidence in Dzul's ability to lead the company's expansion throughout the region.
This acquisition solidifies LiveKid's position as a major player in the global childcare management software industry. By integrating Aldea's regional strength with its own technological expertise, the company is well-positioned for sustained growth. LiveKid plans to continue its expansion strategy through further acquisitions, aiming to consolidate the market in both Europe and Latin America.
