Kapital, a global AI-powered financial institution and one of the largest B2B financial institutions in Latin America, has secured $125 million in new financing. The funding was provided by Tru Arrow Partners and Fasanara Capital, with additional participation from Cervin Ventures, Niya Partners, and Overlook Capital. The Mexico City-based company plans to use the capital to accelerate product innovation and expand its presence across Mexico, the United States, and other key markets.

Investor Backing and Capital Purpose

The new financing will enable Kapital to deepen its investment in its proprietary AI platform and data analytics suite. This investment is intended to expand the company's financial services ecosystem and accelerate its global growth strategy across Mexico, Latin America, the United States, and Europe. The capital will also support Kapital's next phase of growth in priority markets such as Mexico and the United States, where demand for AI-powered financial services continues to rise.

Leadership Perspective

René Saúl, CEO and co-founder of Kapital, said the company is solving core financial challenges that hold businesses back at every stage of their development. He explained that the new capital will allow Kapital to grow profitably and increase the operating leverage of the business. Saúl added that the funding will help democratize access to financial capabilities that were traditionally reserved for large corporations, creating greater economic opportunity.

Financial Performance

Kapital enters this next phase from a position of financial strength following strong results in the first half of 2026. The company reported net income of approximately $50 million and 220 percent year-over-year growth in its loan portfolio, which exceeded $1.7 billion. Deposits also grew by 234 percent, with balances exceeding $3.5 billion, highlighting the scale of its expanding financial platform.

Investor Confidence

Francesco Filia, Founder and CEO of Fasanara Capital, said Kapital's growth to date demonstrates the strength of its business model and the competitive advantage of its AI capabilities and data network. He noted that the company has significant demand for its solutions and that Fasanara Capital is excited about the opportunities ahead. Filia added that the firm looks forward to continuing its support as the financial institution expands into new markets.

Asset Quality and Efficiency

The financial institution reported a non-performing loan ratio of 2.86 percent and an efficiency ratio of 34.9 percent. These figures reflect Kapital's ability to scale its operations while maintaining cost discipline and a continued focus on asset quality. The company also highlighted its disciplined approach to risk management as a key element of its growth strategy and long-term stability.

Expansion and Market Position

In September 2025, Kapital announced a Series C round of up to $110 million, doubling its valuation to more than $1.3 billion and becoming Mexico's first AI unicorn. Today the company serves more than 350,000 customers across Mexico, the United States, Europe, and other Latin American markets. Kapital is one of ten unicorn startups headquartered in Mexico and has twice been recognized by the World Economic Forum as a Technology Pioneer, underscoring its influence in the regional technology sector.

The new financing positions Kapital to strengthen its AI-powered financial services platform and extend its reach across multiple regions. With strong financial results, growing loan and deposit portfolios, and a clear expansion strategy, the company is building on its unicorn status and market leadership in Latin America. The investment from Fasanara Capital, Tru Arrow Partners, and other participants underscores confidence in Kapital's business model and its ability to deliver long-term growth and financial inclusion.
