Swiss tech-bio startup Atlas Bio launched from stealth with a $10 million Seed round led by Creandum. Total funding is $12.5 million. The company builds an AI foundation model that simulates clinical trials before Phase II.
Funding structure
Creandum led the Seed round, with Partner Katharina Wilhelm joining the board. First Momentum Ventures and LEA Partners led the earlier $2.5 million Pre-Seed round. That round had not been previously announced.
Founders and early traction
Atlas Bio was founded in 2024 by Simon Romanski, Sebastian Bayer, and Dominik Hartl. Romanski is CEO, Bayer is CTO, and Hartl leads scientific strategy. It already works with a top 10 global pharma company and talks with more than a dozen other drug makers.
How the platform works
The model is trained on about 2 million RNA readouts from human tissue. It learns how genes switch on and off, then simulates drug effects in a virtual cohort. A virtual trial takes about 12 weeks and can test treatments across many diseases.
The new funding will support team growth, platform validation, and enterprise client onboarding through 2026. A Basel-based biotech has already used the simulations to skip animal testing and proceed to human trials. The company reports that its prospective predictions on real trial outcomes have proven correct so far.
