Hysata has launched HysataFab, an artificial intelligence-optimised manufacturing platform and its first production line at the company headquarters in Port Kembla, New South Wales. The 8,500 square metre facility opens with an electrode line and will later add membrane and cell and stack manufacturing, giving it an initial capacity of 50 megawatts on a single shift basis. This marks what the company describes as the world's first AI optimised electrolyzer production line designed to learn from every component.
A World First in Electrolyzer Manufacturing
Hysata describes HysataFab as the world's first electrolyzer production line to use AI to analyse thousands of data points from every electrode it produces. The system uses real time monitoring, robotics and inline quality testing to achieve up to 15 percent more product from the same physical production line. Each component made helps refine the process for the next, creating continuous improvement.
How the Production Line Learns
The company spent three years building a digital record of how its technology behaves across research, testing and manufacturing, and that record now holds more than 57 billion process data points. Hysata generates more than 100 million new data points every day, far beyond what any engineering team could interpret manually. AI agents analyse more process history each day than the entire team could in a career, running close to 10,000 analytical queries daily.
Efficiency Across Machine and Factory
HysataFab extends the company's core efficiency advantage from the electrolyzer itself into the way it is manufactured. The capillary fed electrolyzer operates at 95 percent system efficiency, or 41.5 kilowatt hours per kilogram of hydrogen, which is around 20 percent more hydrogen per megawatt than incumbent technologies. A simple modular architecture, simplified balance of plant and reduced cooling requirements mean fewer components and lower capital cost per megawatt of manufacturing capacity.
Commercial Momentum and Future Scale
The first HysataFab instance is a project worth close to AUD 100 million and has received support from more than AUD 220 million raised from global investors to date. Modest additional investment would expand the factory to 200 megawatts of capacity, making it the largest electrolyzer manufacturing facility in the southern hemisphere. In June 2026 the company signed its first binding megawatt scale export order with a global heavy industry leader for delivery in the first half of 2027.
Hysata has also completed a successful field trial with ACWA Power in Saudi Arabia and holds joint development agreements with POSCO and Vestas. The company is working with tier one customers across a multi gigawatt pipeline of bankable projects in hard to abate sectors. These relationships reinforce the commercial relevance of the HysataFab platform ahead of larger scale deployment.
Hysata positions the launch as a decisive shift from technology leadership to manufacturing leadership in the global green hydrogen industry. The company argues that AI driven production gains translate directly into better hydrogen economics for customers, because efficiency improvements compound across both the electrolyzer and the production line. By combining high electrolyzer performance with a continuously learning manufacturing platform, Hysata aims to lower costs and support deeper decarbonisation in hard to abate sectors.
