Colombian fintech FinMaq raised US$6.5 million in a Series A round led by Accion. New investor Mundi Ventures joined existing backers ALIVE Ventures and 30N Ventures. The company provides point-of-sale financing for machinery and equipment used by small businesses.

Funding history and investors

In January 2025, FinMaq raised US$29 million in equity and debt in a Pre-Series A. ALIVE Ventures led the equity portion of that round. Accial Capital and Iris participated in the debt portion.

Customer reach and impact

Since 2019, FinMaq has served more than 1,600 clients and disbursed over US$100 million. Its clients are evenly split between urban and rural areas, and 40% are women. An independent 60 Decibels survey found that 72% of clients accessed productive-asset financing for the first time through FinMaq.

How the financing works

FinMaq works with equipment distributors to offer credit and rent-to-own options at the point of sale. Its approval process uses proprietary scoring models and digital onboarding. Users include manufacturers, food producers, construction contractors, health clinics, rural veterinarians, transport operators, and smallholder farmers.

With the new capital, FinMaq plans to surpass US$200 million in cumulative disbursements within 18 months. It aims to reach more than 5,000 clients and expand access for underbanked independent contractors, solo entrepreneurs, and small businesses. The company reported that each machine it finances creates one new formal job on average.
