Eve Air Mobility has announced a significant partnership with Australian company Alt Air and infrastructure specialist Skyports. This collaboration aims to establish a comprehensive electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) network across New South Wales and Queensland. The initiative is strategically timed to build high-visibility operations ahead of the Brisbane 2032 Summer Games.

A Strategic Alliance for Australian Skies

The consortium will co-develop an integrated operational plan to create a world-class Urban Air Mobility ecosystem in Australia. This plan encompasses critical elements such as vertiport infrastructure, route planning, airspace integration, and the overall customer journey. Their collective goal is to ensure the safe, efficient, and sustainable introduction of next-generation transportation services.

Johann Bordais, CEO of Eve Air Mobility, stated that this collaboration is laying the foundation for a premier eVTOL ecosystem. He highlighted the incredible opportunity in New South Wales and Queensland to deliver quiet and efficient air mobility solutions. These services will benefit residents and visitors, especially with the opening of Western Sydney International Airport.

Building the Groundwork for Future Flight

A core focus of the partnership is developing the necessary infrastructure for these advanced aircraft. Skyports Infrastructure will lead the evaluation and development of new vertiport locations across key urban and regional corridors. Meanwhile, Alt Air will leverage existing aviation assets, including bases on Sydney Harbour and at Palm Beach.

The collaboration follows a phased commercialization roadmap with safety and sustainability as its guiding principles. These new and existing facilities will form the backbone of a network designed for seamless passenger flow and high-tempo operations. The plan also includes integrating the eVTOL services with other forms of multimodal transport for enhanced connectivity.

Aaron Shaw, managing director at Alt Air, emphasized the group's shared commitment to driving meaningful aviation innovation in Australia. He noted that together, the partners are designing an eVTOL network that will significantly improve regional connectivity. This project aims to set a new global benchmark for the advanced air mobility industry worldwide.

Targeting Key Corridors and the 2032 Games

The partners will assess priority routes to connect major population centers, commercial districts, and popular tourism hubs. Early concepts for these routes include high-demand corridors such as the one linking the new Western Sydney International Airport to downtown Sydney. This strategic planning aims to address existing and future transportation needs in the region.

The Brisbane 2032 Summer Games serve as a significant catalyst for the project's timeline and ambitions. The collaboration intends to provide an efficient and futuristic mobility option for the influx of visitors and residents during the event. Establishing a fully operational network ahead of the Games will showcase Australia’s leadership in advanced air mobility.

Yun-Yuan Tay, head of Asia-Pacific at Skyports, described Australia as a key future market for advanced air mobility. He noted that the Brisbane 2032 Games will enable a legacy network that extends well beyond the event itself. This network will enhance connectivity between key venues and major airports in Brisbane, the Gold Coast, and the Sunshine Coast.

This strategic alliance between Eve, Alt Air, and Skyports marks a pivotal step toward integrating eVTOL technology into Australia's transport landscape. By focusing on infrastructure, integrated operations, and key events, the consortium is poised to redefine urban and regional travel. The initiative not only prepares for the Brisbane 2032 Games but also sets a course for a more connected and sustainable transportation future.
