Epassi, a leading European provider of digital employee benefits, has strengthened its position in the Netherlands through the acquisition of Amsterdam based scale up Alleo. The deal consolidates several Dutch operations under one roof, combining Alleo with Bedrijfsfitness Nederland, Workit, and Vip District into a single multi benefit environment. With this move, Epassi advances its ambition to offer a unified, data driven benefits platform for employers and employees across the Dutch market.

Building a Unified Employee Benefits Platform

Alleo, founded in 2021, will serve as the core platform for Epassi’s Dutch operations and will host the integrated offerings of the other group companies. More than 400 organizations and 200,000 employees already use Alleo’s solution, which brings together benefits such as corporate fitness, bike leasing, mental wellness services, savings options, and a wide network of partner deals. By positioning Alleo at the center of its Dutch strategy, Epassi is aiming to provide a more coherent and scalable digital experience for employers and employees.

Personalized Benefits With Less Administrative Burden

The integration of Alleo with Bedrijfsfitness Nederland, Workit, and Vip District is designed to reduce HR complexity while enhancing personalization. Employers gain a single interface and clearer data insights that can be used to tailor benefits to different life stages, workforce segments, and engagement needs. At the same time, employees can navigate a wider range of offerings through one platform, which is expected to increase usage and perceived value.

Strategic Rationale and Market Positioning

Epassi’s leadership sees the acquisition as a way to shift employee benefits from a purely administrative function to a more strategic HR tool. CEO Pekka Rantala emphasized that the combined Dutch entities will help employers attract, retain, and develop talent by turning benefits into a daily used asset rather than a passive perk. The transaction therefore supports broader market trends, with employers seeking more flexible benefits and providers gravitating toward omnichannel, employer funded models.

Role of Bedrijfsfitness Nederland in the New Setup

Bedrijfsfitness Nederland will remain the recognizable face of corporate wellness and fitness within the Netherlands. The company already offers access to a nationwide network of more than 5,000 sports locations, including over 1,200 via its Workit multi sport subscription, and serves nearly 4,600 employers. Under the Epassi umbrella, its fitness and wellness capabilities will be plugged into the broader Alleo platform, allowing companies to run vitality programs with minimal additional HR effort.

Alleo’s Technology, Investors, and Client Base

Alleo’s platform was built to give employees control over their own benefits choices while simplifying administration for mid sized and large organizations. It integrates with major HR and payroll systems, supports both benefits inside and outside the Dutch WKR framework, and offers more than 300 options spanning wellbeing, mobility, leisure, culture, and personal development. Backed by investors such as Newion, Dutch Founders Fund, Mediahuis Ventures, ROMInWest, and several prominent entrepreneurs, Alleo serves clients including Van Lanschot Kempen, Amsterdam UMC, Picnic, PostNL, and Van der Valk.

Epassi’s European Growth Trajectory

The Alleo acquisition forms part of Epassi’s wider European expansion roadmap, which has recently included moves into Spain, Portugal, and France. Epassi expects to generate net revenue of more than 200 million euros in 2025, reflecting both organic growth and its acquisition strategy. With a presence across the Nordics, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Southern Europe, the group is positioning itself as a long term consolidator in the employee benefits technology space.

By acquiring Alleo and integrating it with Bedrijfsfitness Nederland, Workit, and Vip District, Epassi is creating a single multi benefit platform tailored to the Dutch market. The combination is intended to deliver a richer, more flexible experience for employees while giving employers a more powerful and data informed way to manage engagement, wellbeing, and retention. As Epassi advances its European strategy, the Dutch integration stands out as a key step in building a unified, mobile first marketplace for employee benefits.
