Khadim Batti, cofounder and chief executive of enterprise software startup Whatfix, died on Tuesday after suffering a cardiac arrest. The company confirmed his passing in an official statement, describing him as a visionary leader with a transformative impact on the global enterprise SaaS landscape. Batti was about 50 years old and had spent more than two decades in the technology industry before building Whatfix.
A Sudden Loss for the Company
Whatfix shared the news with deep sorrow and called Batti a beloved cofounder and CEO. The company credited him with building a resilient organization and a committed leadership team. Vara Kumar told employees that the two had spoken at length on Monday night and that Batti had been maintaining his health.
Building a Digital Adoption Leader
Batti and Kumar founded Whatfix in Bengaluru in 2014 after previously cofounding SearchEnabler. The company built an AI-powered digital adoption platform that helps businesses accelerate software adoption, onboard employees, and maximise return on technology investments. Under Batti, Whatfix expanded across global markets and served more than 700 enterprises.
Whatfix attracted backing from major investors including SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Peak XV Partners, Cisco Investments, Dragoneer, and Warburg Pincus. Warburg Pincus led a $125 million investment in the company in 2024, valuing it at close to $800 million. The funding reinforced Whatfix's position as a notable SaaS soonicorn in India's enterprise technology sector.

Peak XV Partners said Batti was a visionary leader whose passion, drive, warmth, and dedication left a lasting impact. Mentor and Angel Investor
Beyond Whatfix, Batti was an active angel investor in India's startup ecosystem, backing companies across enterprise software, AI, healthcare, and electric vehicle infrastructure. His portfolio included startups such as NanoNets, Locale.ai, GTM Buddy, UrbanPiper, ElectricPe, and Ayu Health. His last publicly recorded investment was in mirrAR's November 2023 funding round.
Continuing His Vision
Whatfix's leadership team said it remains steadfast in carrying Batti's vision forward and supporting the company's customers and employees. His family has decided to hold his last rites in his hometown in Gujarat. The company's statement emphasized that his legacy lives on through the resilient organization he helped create.
