Cybastion launched the Cisco Cybersecurity Center at Cybastion in Abidjan on November 5, 2026. The new facility serves West and Central Africa. It combines cybersecurity defense, technology demonstrations, and digital skills training.
Facility operations
Cybastion will manage and operate the new center. It houses a Security Operations Center to monitor digital systems for potential threats. A Security Incident Response Team will investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents.
Workforce training
The center supports the Africa DigiEmpower program. That program aims to train 200,000 young people and women across 10 regions by 2030. Cisco Networking Academy has equipped more than 3.3 million learners across Africa over 25 years.
Company and partners
Cybastion is an American technology company focused on digital transformation projects in Africa. It delivers secure digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, e-government solutions, reliable energy, and workforce development. The THEYA Foundation, its philanthropic organization, delivers the Africa DigiEmpower program in Côte d'Ivoire and several other countries.
The initiative builds on an October 2025 memorandum of understanding among Cybastion, Cisco, and Côte d'Ivoire's Ministry of Women, Family, and Children. It is intended to support national cybersecurity readiness and open career paths in the field. Cybastion leads the project with technology from Cisco and support from the Ivorian government.
