Cryptocurrency exchange BitMart has announced an orderly wind-down of its trading platform, with full cessation scheduled for January 31, 2027. The company said the decision followed an assessment of its operating conditions, the broader market environment, and its future strategic direction. The move marks a significant retreat for a platform that has served users across multiple countries and regions since its establishment.
Immediate Service Restrictions
BitMart began restricting key services on July 26, 2026, at 01:30 UTC, including new user registrations and cryptocurrency and fiat deposits. At the same time, futures accounts were placed into reduce-only mode, spot markets stopped accepting new orders, and automated services such as copy trading, grid trading, and API trading began shutting down. Existing open orders must either be canceled by customers or will be canceled by the platform as the wind-down progresses.
Trading to End in August
All spot, futures, and other trading services are scheduled to stop on August 26, 2026, at 01:00 UTC. Any futures positions still open at that point may be settled using the applicable mark price, index price, or other settlement rules in force at the time. BitMart said it would publish separate details covering the handling of remaining positions and related settlement procedures.
Other Products to Be Discontinued
The exchange will also phase out BitMart Earn, staking, lending, Launchpad, and other investment products according to arrangements specific to each service. Customers affected by those closures are expected to receive dedicated announcements and in-platform notifications explaining redemption, settlement, and processing steps. The staggered approach is intended to reduce operational disruption while allowing users time to unwind positions and recover eligible assets.
Withdrawal Arrangements
Withdrawal services remain available, but BitMart strongly advised users to complete identity verification, close trading positions before 01:00 UTC on August 26, and submit withdrawal requests before 05:00 UTC that day. Requests may be subjected to additional identity, security, sanctions, source-of-funds, Travel Rule, and blockchain-risk checks. Processing times could lengthen because of high demand, incomplete documentation, network congestion, or compliance reviews, and submitting a request does not guarantee immediate blockchain transmission.
Final Closure in January
BitMart plans to formally terminate trading platform operations at 15:59 UTC on January 31, 2027. After that date, customers will retain account access for a limited period to review historical records and request withdrawals under procedures that will apply at the time. Users who miss the recommended withdrawal window will be moved into a separate processing procedure, with further instructions and documentation requirements to be communicated later.
Security and Fraud Risks
The company warned that impersonation scams could increase during the shutdown period as customers seek help with withdrawals and account access. BitMart said it would never request passwords, authentication codes, private keys, recovery phrases, or payments for supposed priority withdrawals, account unfreezing, or expedited processing. Users were told to rely only on the official website, mobile application, registered email communications, and verified support channels.
BitMart’s closure introduces a lengthy transition designed to wind down trading, investment products, and customer accounts in stages rather than ending access immediately. The most urgent responsibility for users is to review balances, cancel orders, close positions, redeem eligible products, preserve transaction records, and submit withdrawals well before the stated deadlines. The effectiveness of the process will ultimately depend on timely communication, sufficient support capacity, and the exchange’s ability to process withdrawals transparently throughout the remaining months.
